LONG BEACH, Calif. – For the second day in the row Cal Poly and Long Beach State’s pitchers threw up zero after zero, and for the second straight day the Beach came up with the big hit in support, this time coming from Brooklyn Lee to pick up Eryka Gonzales on senior day in a 1-0 win to finish the regular season.
 
Kate Judy was outstanding against for Cal Poly (9-38, 4-23 Big West), throwing six innings and giving up just one unearned run, but Long Beach State (27-20, 17-10) had an outstanding day of their own in the circle, putting together a second straight shutout to finish off the season on a six-game winning streak.
 
Shannon Haddad worked around trouble for the first two innings, and then turned the ball over to another senior in Eryka Gonzales, who allowed just three hits the rest of the way with three strikeouts and no walks in an outstanding pitching performance.
 
Long Beach State left nine on base throughout the day, but cashed in a huge run in the sixth inning. Rebekah Durazo reached on an error before turning over running duties to Sophia Stein. After a sacrifice, Brooklyn Lee entered as a pinch hitter and slapped a single to right field, bringing home Stein for the only run of the game.
 
Gonzales quickly retired the Mustangs in order in the seventh to get her second win of the weekend, improving to 6-2 in Big West play.
 
Long Beach State has secured a spot in the Big West Championship, and will play in the first round on Wednesday, May 7 as the action gets started in the inaugural tournament for the conference. Seeding and times will be announced following the conclusion of all games this weekend.
 

Lakewood, N.J. (5/3/25)  The Dominican University New York men’s track and field team finished in eighth place at the 2025 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Track and Field Championships held yesterday and today

Aaron Williams won the silver medal in both the 100m and 200m dash, while Aidan Nelson took the silver in the 3000m steeplechase.

The 4x100m relay team of Aidan Mallon, Williams, Thiea Shea and Maurice Douglas finished in second place.

MEN’S RESULTS

• Aaron Williams brought home a medal in the 100m dash as he took second place with a time of 10.72.  Maurice Douglas took fifth place with a time of 11.01.
• Williams also took second place in the 200m dash with a time of 21.51.
• The 3000m steeplechase saw Aidan Nelson medal with a second place finish with a time of 9:11.01.94.
• The 4x100m relay team of Aidan Mallon, Williams, Thiea Shea and M. Douglas took second place with a time of 42.35.
• In the 400m dash, Samuel Fileen finished in sixth place with a time of 49.61.
• Jean Franco Del Valle Guerrero competed in the 110m hurdles and took sixth place with a time of 15.58, while Jeffrey Li Rivera finished in 8th place with a time of 16.86.
• Del Valle Guerrero also had a sixth place finish in the high jump with a jump of 1.95m (
• The 4x400m relay team of Williams, Shea, Deshawn Douglas and Fileen had a seventh place finish with a time of 3:26.47.
• Rivera took 11th place in the triple jump with a jump of 12.31m.

York, PA (May 3, 2025) – The DeSales University men’s track & field team finished in eighth place out of 15 schools at the MAC Outdoor Championships held at York College (PA) Thursday thru Satruday.

DeSales finished with 46 team points for the weekend.

 

Beginning the final day of competition in the 800-meter, sophomore Jozef Callano finished 6^th overall with a time of 1:55.32, scoring three points for the team. First-year Alex Porambo placed 18^th overall with a time of 2:02.49.

 

Then in the 100-meter, junior Tyler McCulloch finished in 28^th with a time of 11.40. First-year Jack Jacobson placed 30^th with a time of 11.63.

 

In the 400-meter, first-year Cooper Stutz finished 23^rd overall, with a time of 52.55.

 

For the finals in the 1500-meter, sophomore Jozef Callano finished in 4^th overall setting a personal best time of 3:58.65, scoring five points. Senior Tim Connell placed 19^th overall with a time of 4:19.39.

 

Switching to the field events in the High Jump, junior Brian Whitney finished 14^th overall with a jump of 1.77 meters.

 

For the finals in the Pole Vault, first-year Jack Jacobson tied for 10^th place overall with a jump of 3.87 meters.

 

Scoring five points for DeSales in the Long Jump, sophomore Weston Simak finished 4^th overall with a personal best jump of 6.73. First-year Jonathan Castronovo placed 13^th with a personal best jump of 6.49 meters.

 

In the Triple Jump, first-year Jonathan Castronovo finished in 12^th place overall with a jump of 13.05 meters. Junior Peter Skulski placed 26^th overall with a jump of 11.93 meters.

 

Back to the track in the 5,000 meters, sophomore Joey Wilson finished 5^th overall with a time of 15:01.95, securing four points for the team. Senior Dean Ricco placed 13^th overall with a time of 15:42.37. Sophomore Bryce Phillips finished in 18^th place with a time of 16:03.90.

 

For the finals in the 10,000 meters, senior Dean Ricco finished in 5^th place overall with a personal best time of 32:02.39, scoring four points for the squad. Junior James Cook placed 15^th overall with a time of 34:05.35.

 

In the 110-meter Hurdles, senior Sam Estherson finished in 2^nd place overall with a personal best time of 14.66, scoring a total of eight points for the Bulldogs.

 

Junior Tyler McCulloch finished 25^th overall in the 200-meter with a time of 23.36.

 

For the finals in the 400-meter Hurdles, sophomore Colin Marsh finished 4^th overall with a personal best time of 55.66, earning five points for the team. Sophomore Bryce Guthier placed 11^th overall with a time of 57.43.

 

In the 3,000-meter Steeplechase sophomore Joey Wilson finished in 5^th place overall, with a time of 9:42.62, scoring four points. Senior Tim Connellv placed 12^th overall with a time of 10:20.35. Sophomore Dylan Doskocil finished in 16^th place overall with a time of 10:34.11. First-year Jordan Smith placed 17^th overall with a time of 10:42.90. Senior Cody Smith finished in 26^th place overall with a time of 10:55.91.

 

In the field events for the Shot Put, senior Jacob Schaeffer finished in 10^th place overall with a throw of 13.34 meters. Senior Nick Chinn placed 26^th overall with a throw of 11.24 meters.

 

For the finals in the Discus, senior Jacob Schaeffer finished 5^th overall, with a throw of 44.21 meters, scoring four points for DeSales. Senior Nick Chinn placed 28^th overall with a throw of 32.16 meters.

 

In the Hammer, junior Jonathan Eudja finished in 5^th place overall  with a throw of 50.26 meters, scoring four points for the team. Junior Giovanni Wellington finished 9^th overall with a personal best throw of 45.76 meters. Sophomore Cameron Williams placed 15^th overall with a throw of 41.87 meters.

 

For the Javelin, junior Dane Watson finished 10^th overall with a throw of 49.49 meters. First-year Preston DeGrazia placed 15^th overall with a throw of 46.25 meters. Junior Peter Skulski finished in 17^th place with a throw of 42.71 meters.

 

DeSales competed in the 4×100 meter Relay where they placed 11^th overall, with a time of 43.81. The team consisted of Bryce Guthier, Sam Estherson, Jack Jacobson, and anchor Tyler McCulloch.

 

DSU also competed in the 4×400 meter Relay where the squad finished 12^th overall, with a time of 3:23.58. The squad consisted of Tyler McCulloch, Bryce Guthier, Colin Marsh, and anchor Jozef Callano.

 

On May 12^th some Bulldogs will return for one final performance at the Last Chance Invite at Widener University. The following week, others will be competing at the AARTFC Regional Championship at Williams College on Wednesday through Thursday, May 14-15.   

 

INDIANA, Pa. — The IUP track and field program split their weekend at the SRU Last Chance on Friday and the Stan Romanoski Open at West Virginia University on Saturday.

SRU Last Chance 

Sesia Lovell placed second in the women’s high jump (1.60m) while Jahnaya Trotter-Wimberly placed first in the women’s triple jump (11.28m), both marked PSAC qualifying jumps.

In the men’s long jump, Matthew Cusatis placed second (6.94m), with his best jump coming on his first try. In the men’s triple jump, Evan Loro placed second (13.74m). Both hit PSAC qualifying marks. 

Steve Combary placed second in the men’s 110m hurdles (15.47) and Taimir Lobban placed fourth (15.77). George Jennings placed sixth in the men’s 200m (22.40). 

Sterlene Scott placed sixth in the women’s 100m (12.49) and Renee Simmonds placed fifth in the women’s 100m hurdles (15.88).

Stan Romanoski Open

Grace Bogacz placed sixth in the women’s 800m (2:21.52) and Alyssa Hoover placed seventh (2:21.73), both marking PSAC qualifying times.

Brendon Ward led IUP in the men’s 800m with a fifth place finish (157.44), while Tom Brady and Jason Clifford placed seventh and ninth, respectively. All three ran personal bests. 

IUP placed five runners all in the top five in the men’s 1500m. Marco Cardone placed first (4:06.86), Ian Rauber placed second (4:11.04), and Owen Sparks placed third (4:11.53), each marking a personal best. 

Stella Kuntz led IUP in the women’s 1500m with a sixth place finish (5:06.51), a personal best. In the 500m, both Parker Bradley and Haley Filcheck placed fourth.

SCSU Wins Second Straight NE10 Title

MANCHESTER, N.H. – Southern Connecticut women’s outdoor track & field won the 2025 Northeast-10 Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championship, for the second consecutive season and it marks their seventh NE10 title overall. The Owls totaled 246 points throughout the Championship, captured 24 medals, which included 11 gold medals, eight silver medals and five bronze medals.
 
With the men’s program also winning the 2025 NE10 outdoor title, the Owls’ indoor and outdoor track & field titles for both genders make it the fifth time in NE10 history that one school has won both titles in the same year, as Southern accomplished this feat four other times.

The Owls captured 11 Gold Medals throughout the weekend, individually and in the 4×800 and 4×100 relays. Kisha Francois secured a total of four medals, which included three gold medals in the 4×100, Long Jump, 100 Dash and a Silver Medal in the 200 Dash. Hannah Caiola (400, 200 Dash, 4×100) won three Gold Medals. Belle Smith secured three medals, which included Gold Medals in the Hammer Throw and Shot Put and a Bronze Medal in the Discus Throw.  The 4×800 relay team of Courtney Henchcliffe, Erin Sola, Abigail Bajorek and Julia Mansfield secured the Gold Medal. The 4×100 relay team of Francois Caiola, Avery Winters and Dardielle Exantus claimed the Gold Medal. Maddie Hathorn claimed the Gold Medal in the Pole Vault. It was an Owls’ sweep on the 5000-meter podium as Courtney Henchcliffe won the Gold Medal, Megan Whitnell captured the Silver Medal and PJ Dauphinais secured the Bronze Medal.

EASTON, Mass. (May 3, 2025) – Graduate student Abigail Larsson (Bayport, N.Y.) won the lone gold medal for the Stonehill College track and field team as the Skyhawks competed on day one of the Northeast Conference Outdoor Championships at W.B. Mason Stadium on Saturday.
 
The men’s team sits in sixth place with 17.5 points after the first day of competition, with the women ranking in a tie for third place with 40 points. Central Connecticut State is out in front in both the men’s and women’s standings, posting 72 on the men’s side and 46 on the women’s.
 
WOMEN’S EVENTS

• Larsson highlighted the day one finishes for the Skyhawks, winning the pole vault final with a personal record of 3.75m (12′ 3.75″), tallying 10 points towards the team score for Stonehill.
• Sophomore Morgan Correia (North Dighton, Mass.) also podiumed in the pole vault, placing third with a vault of 3.35m (11′ 0″), while freshman Kendall Barton (Concord, N.H.) placed fourth with the same mark as the duo combined for another 11 points.
• Sophomore Kayla Oakes (Kingston, N.Y.) finished runner-up in the long jump final, narrowly missing the top spot by 0.01m as she reached 5.79m (19′ 0″), a new personal record. Oakes’ second-place finish adds eight points to the Skyhawks’ team total.
• In the shot put finals on Saturday, freshman Makenna Dube (North Andover, Mass.) placed seventh to secure two points for the Stonehill team score with a mark of 11.36m (37′ 3.25″), a new personal record.
• Senior Madison Gunderway (Cranston, R.I.) placed eighth in the hammer throw final, scoring one point for the Skyhawks with a season-best mark of 42.68m (140′ 0″).
• Four Skyhawks qualified for tomorrow’s 1,500-meter final after today’s preliminary race, with junior Emily Young (Newton, Mass.) leading the way with a fifth-place finish at 4:51.75.
• Junior Jordan Malloy (Colchester, Conn.) finished one spot after Young with a time of 4:57.28, followed by sophomore Anna Casey (Medford, Mass.) in 10th at 5:04.30, and freshman Rachael Korowski (Hudson, Mass.) secured the final spot in tomorrow’s race, finishing 12th at 5:06.17.
• Senior Madison Rousseau (Canton, Mass.) qualified for the 100-meter hurdles final on Sunday, placing second in the prelim at 14.37 seconds.
• Graduate student Kaytlin Encarnacao (Reading, Mass.) recorded the top time in the 400-meter preliminary race, clocking in at 56.32 seconds. Sophomore Madison Stott (Dartmouth, Mass.) will join Encarnacao in tomorrow’s 400m final after placing sixth in the prelim, finishing in 58.01 seconds.
• Encarnacao later qualified for the final in the 200-meter dash with a sixth-place finish at 24.90 seconds, a new personal record for the grad student.
• Senior Emma Lawrence (Milford, Mass.) won the 800-meter race qualifier, finishing with a time of 2:14.40, the second-best time of her career and the second-best time in the NEC this spring.
• Freshman Emmy Belvin (Chepachet, R.I.) also notched a top-five finish in the 800m run, placing fifth at 2:16.09, the fastest time of her career.
• Senior Madison Rousseau (Canton, Mass.) and junior Grace Tyrrell (Cavendish, Vt) qualified for tomorrow’s 400-meter hurdles final with Rousseau coming in second at 1:02.06 and Tyrrell coming fifth at 1:04.72. Rousseau’s time of 1:02.06 is a personal record and a program record for the Skyhawks.
• In the final event of the day, the Stonehill 4×800-meter relay race team of Belvin, freshman Mallory Hildreth (Pittsford, N.Y.), Lawrence, and Malloy secured a spot on the podium with a silver medal finish in the final, combining for a time of 9:07.06 to secure eight more points for the Skyhawks.

MEN’S EVENTS

• Graduate student Patrick Garratt (Westwood, Mass.) ran in the first men’s event of the morning, placing third in the 10,000-meter final with a time of 32:28.67. This was Garratt’s first 10,000m appearance, earning six points toward the Skyhawks’ team score.
• In the high jump final, sophomore Keagan Fletcher (Wrentham, Mass.) tied for fifth place, tying his PR of 1.93m (6′ 4″).
• Sophomore Christopher Gill (Boston, Mass.) led the Skyhawks in the shot put final, tallying four points as he placed fifth with a new PR of 15.38m (50′ 5.5″).
• Sophomore Joseph Chesney (Cumberland, R.I.) notched a point for the Skyhawks, placing eighth in the shot put at 14.98m (49′ 1.75″), another personal record in the shot put.
• In the first preliminary race of the day for the men, sophomore Nicholas Davies (Auckland, Mass.) set a new PR in the 1500m race, placing third and qualifying for tomorrow’s final at 3:56.96.
• Classmate Colin Keane (Blackwood, N.J.) also qualified for the 1500m final, finishing fifth at 3:59.94.
• Sophomore Will Tinkham (Stoughton, Mass.) came in fifth place in the 110-meter hurdles prelim, crossing the finish line in 14.82 seconds to qualify for tomorrow’s final.
• Sophomore Jon Dougherty (Reading, Mass.) placed third in the 400-meter dash preliminary race, setting a new PR in the event for the second weekend in a row at 48.27 seconds.
• A trio of Skyhawks qualified for the 100-meter dash final, finishing in succession with freshman Miles Burr (Trenton, Maine) leading the way in sixth at 10.91 seconds. Senior Shea Drugan (Westfield, Mass came in seventh at 10.92 seconds, and classmate Zachary Ofurum (Brockton, Mass.) secured the final qualifying spot with an eighth-place finish at 10.99 seconds, a new PR for the senior.
• Drugan also qualified for tomorrow’s 200-meter dash final as he clocked in at 21.72 seconds, good for a sixth-place finish.
• In the 800-meter run prelim, sophomore Matthew Malora (Harrington, N.J.) qualified for the final on Sunday, finishing in third place at 1:54.77.
• The final event of the day was the 4×800-meter relay race with Malora, freshman Nathan Binda (Auburn, Mass.), junior Thomas Forde (Mystic, Conn.), and Keane placing sixth with a combined time of 7:56.58 in the Skyhawks’ first 4x800m relay of the season.
