PRINCETON – The Princeton Women’s Basketball Team will participate in its sixth straight NCAA Tournament.Head coach Carla Berube‘s squad went 21-7 and collected a Net Ranking of 47, adding four combined quad 1/2 victories. The Tigers have made a postseason tournament every year since 2009-10.
The program has been seeded as low as No. 12 and as high as No. 8. The Tigers’ No. 8 seed in 2015 is the highest seed ever by an Ivy school in the NCAAs.Princeton, as one of the last four teams in, will battle Iowa State on March 19th at 7 p.m. The winner will take on No. 6 seeded Michigan in South Bend, Indiana. The other contest in the pod will feature host No. 3 seed Notre Dame vs. No. 14 seed Stephen F. Austin.Despite finishing second in the conference, Princeton became the first Ivy school to earn an NCAA at-large bid in 2016. Columbia became the second squad last season.
Iowa State went 22-11 and 12-6 in the Big 12 before falling to Baylor in the Big 12 Tournament Quarterfinals. The Cyclones are led by Audi Crooks who averages 23.2 points and 7.6 rebounds per game.This is the first time that the Ivy League has earned three bids in the NCAA Tournament. Columbia was selected as a No. 11 seed while Harvard earned the automatic qualifier and a No. 10 seed.
