The All Women’s Sports Network has agreed a deal with the International Basketball Federation (Fiba) to globally broadcast the Fiba 3×3 Women’s Series.

Contract:

  • Deal will see 24/7 channel broadcast the 3×3 Women’s Series in 2025 and 2026
  • Partnership will see broadcasts live and on delay across the US, Mexico, India, Philippines, Vietnam, Japan, Korea, Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, UAE, Saudi Arabia and Sub-Saharan Africa
  • Channel will also be live on AWSN’s carrier partners, including in the US, India, UAE and the Philippines

Context:

The AWSN was founded earlier this year by US comedian Whoopi Goldberg and George Chung, the chief executive of JungoTV. The network launched in the US, India, the UAE and the Philippines in November.

Alongside the 3×3 Women’s Series, the network also boasts coverage of Australia’s Women’s Basketball Legaue (WNBL), the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) and the Uefa Women’s Nations League.

Comment:

Alex Sanchez, managing director of Fiba 3×3, said: “The Women’s Series has grown dramatically in popularity in recent years and the AWSN will provide a fantastic platform for our ever-growing global audience to engage with the discipline and our incredible players.

“At Fiba we are aligned with the AWSN’s mission to promote and celebrate women’s sport and we are excited for what we are sure will be the start of a fruitful partnership.”

Chung added: “We’re excited to bring the Fiba 3×3 Women’s Basketball Series to our global audiences and to be a long-term partner with Fiba.

“The popularity of women’s basketball is front and centre with fans and brands, and Fiba’s 3×3 Women’s Series is one of the sport’s most competitive and recognized global leagues.”

Coming next:

The AWSN is looking to announce more platform partners in 2025. This year’s Women’s Series recorded 41 million views across its digital platforms, an increase of 64 per cent on 2023, and Fiba said it expects an even bigger audience in 2025 and 2026 on the back of the new broadcast deal.
