American Historic Motorcycle Racing Association returns to Hastings
HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) – American Historic Motorcycle Racing Association (AHMRA) wrapped up it’s final day of a three-day race weekend to Motorsports Park Hastings (MPH) on Sunday.
For the first since 2023, AHMRA returned to the park bringing roughly 125 racers from around the United States.
Jeff Lacina, general manager of Motorsports Park Hastings, said AHMRA race also helps boost the local economy.
“A lot of people came in early and they went to the museum,” Lacina said. “They go downtown to the restaurants, they go to the antique shops.”
It’s truly amazing to have an international group of racers at the park, Lacina expressed.
Leasha Overturf, road race director of American Historic Motorcycle Racing Association, said coming to Hastings is always a good time.
“I was really happy to make the schedule work to come back in 2025,” Overturf said. “My last time I was here as a racer, not road race director, I fell in love with Jeff – he’s one the best track managers.“
Lacina noted the quality and character of bikes AHMRA brings to Hastings is truly special.
“When they we’re here in 2023, the people made AHMRA special,” he said. “It’s motorsports, we’re out here enjoying the passion. It’s really the people, the pits, camaraderie, the fellowship.“
