Asus has recently revealed a range of new monitors, some of which may find a place on our list of the top gaming monitors for next year. Among the more noteworthy options is the ROG Strix XG32UCG, which allows you to switch between 4K and 1080p based on the game you wish to play. Additionally, there’s a new ProArt display featuring an impressive 6K panel that maximizes pixel density with a 32-inch size.
The ROG Strix caught my attention. It’s not the first dual-mode monitor from Asus. We had the opportunity to review the ROG Swift PG32UCDP, another dual-mode display, but this one presents some modifications. For instance, the earlier model with adjustable refresh rate and resolution was an OLED monitor, while this current one utilizes a Fast IPS panel.
With Asus’ latest monitor, you can opt to play in 4K with a refresh rate of 160Hz or in 1080p at 360Hz. These refresh rates are lower compared to the previously mentioned ROG Swift, which might suggest that this monitor could be more affordable, but there’s no confirmation at the moment as Asus has not disclosed any pricing details or exact release dates for any of the new displays.
In addition to being a solid choice for gamers who frequently transition between esports and AAA games, the ROG Strix also offers support for both FreeSync Premium and G-Sync, along with VESA VRR. It includes DisplayPort 1.4 and HDMI 2.1 ports, in addition to a 15-watt USB-C outlet.
One feature I find appealing is the ability to adjust the monitor settings using a mouse, since many of us find navigating tricky menus with obscure buttons frustrating. Asus also claims to include several AI enhancements, such as Dynamic Crosshair and Dynamic Shadow Boost.
I am also intrigued by the ProArt Display 6K PA32QCV, which could be an excellent choice for creative tasks. This 32-inch monitor features a resolution of 6,016 x 3,384 pixels, which, according to Asus, increases the onscreen workspace by up to 145% compared to a standard 32-inch 4K display.
Besides its remarkable resolution, the ProArt Display 6K also boasts 98% DCI-P3 and 100% sRGB color coverage while targeting VESA’s DisplayHDR 600 certification. Asus has also equipped it with an anti-glare and low-reflection coating that maintains image clarity. In terms of connectivity, it comes with two Thunderbolt 4 ports, a DisplayPort 1.4, HDMI 2.1, and a USB hub.
In addition to these, Asus has also unveiled five additional monitors, though none are as remarkable as these two. Among them is the new ZenScreen MB169CK, a 15.6-inch 1080p IPS portable monitor with a detachable stand, making it a practical solution for laptop users seeking a secondary screen without the burden of carrying a full-sized monitor. There are also a few other ZenScreen models, including a 32-inch UHD IPS panel and a 27-inch 100Hz QHD panel, alongside two more ProArt Display units: one at 32 inches and another at 27 inches, both featuring 4K resolution.
While Asus has yet to provide any launch dates or pricing for these monitors, we know they will be officially showcased at CES 2025, so it may take a few months before they become available in stores.
