Ohio State took home first place with a score of 45-under par 819, followed by Arkansas at 35-under par 829, LSU at 26-under par 838, Tennessee at 19-under par 845, and SMU rounding out the top five at 16-under par 848. The Spartans finished in 11th place and were one of 11 teams to finish under par for the tournament.The Spartans will next compete April 12-13 in the Lady Buckeye Invitational at the Ohio State University Golf Course’s Scarlet Course in Columbus, Ohio.
After shooting 7-over par 295 in the first round and even-par in the second round, the Spartans fired an 8-under par 280, good for the sixth-best round among all schools competing.
Playing as an individual, senior Shannon Kennedy tied for 58th place after turning in scores of (73-72-77) for an overall 6-over-par 222.
Final results from the Clemson Invitational:
Junior Paula Balanzategui finished in a tie for 29th place after posting a 3-under par 213. Balanzategui went (76-71-66) over three rounds. Her third-round score of 6-under par 66 marked a career-best round.
East Lansing, Mich. — Michigan State’s women’s golf team wrapped up the final nine holes of the Clemson Invitational on Sunday, finishing in 11th place among 15 schools with a score of 1-under par 863.
Sophomore Ana Sofia Murcia posted scores of (73-71-75), giving her an overall 3-over par 219 for the tournament and finishing tied for 48th place.

Senior Katie Lu shot 2-over par 218 and finished tied for 45th place. Lu went (75-74-69) over three rounds. With a 3-under-par 69 in the third round, she collected her seventh even- or under-par round of the season.
Senior Brooke Biermann shot even-par 216, finishing in a tie for 36th. Biermann went (71-72-73) over her three rounds and scored five birdies.
The event featured eight nationally ranked teams, including the Spartans at No. 23.

Freshman Catalina Monroy finished tied for 67th place with an overall score of 9-over par 225. Monroy went (76-77-72), and her third-round even-par 72 marked her third even- or under-par round of the season.
Due to Sunday’s forecast, teams played 27 holes on Saturday, leaving the final nine of the three-day, 54-hole tournament to be played Sunday morning.
