Cincinnati Bengals linebacker/defensive end Joseph Ossai drew a personal-foul penalty for roughing the passer during the third quarter of the team’s NFL Week 16 win Sunday against the Cleveland Browns at Paycor Stadium.
CBS announcers agreed that Ossai appeared to be pushed into Browns quarterback Dorian Thompson-Robinson.
“Boy that was a little bit unfortunate (for Ossai),” CBS play-by-play announcer Spero Dedes said during the broadcast. “Kind of pushed into (Thompson-Robinson).”

Ossai had a sack during the Bengals’ Week 11 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers.
Ossai was a third-round pick of the Bengals in the 2021 NFL draft. He suffered a season-ending knee injury during the 2021 preseason.
In 2022, Ossai played in 16 regular-season games and three playoff games. After his ill-timed penalty near the end of the Bengals’ AFC championship loss to the Kansas City Chiefs, he received support from teammate BJ Hill, head coach Zac Taylor and others.
In 2023, his interception against the Atlanta Falcons was his first since a pick of Joe Burrow in the 2019 Texas-LSU game.
