BHA partners with PR1/Mathiasen for IMSA LMP2 program
One week after announcing plans to race in the 2026 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship’s LMP2 category, Bryan Herta Autosport (BHA) has announced an alliance with PR1/Mathiasen Motorsports for the upcoming season.
The team will race as Bryan Herta Autosport with PR1/Mathiasen Motorsport, fielding the No.52 ORECA 07-Gibson. The team will operate out of BHA’s new headquarters in Brownsburg, Indiana.
Led by Team Principal Bobby Oergel, PR1/Mathiasen Motorsports has won five out of the last six IMSA LMP2 titles, their most recent of which came in 2024 as part of an alliance with Inter Europol Competition.
PR1’s LMP2 experience will be combined with the advanced facilities, wealth of resources, and operational strength of BHA, which has won six consecutive IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge TCR manufacturers’ championships, and five Drivers’ and Teams’ titles in a row from 2019–2023.
“PR1/Mathiasen has set the benchmark in LMP2 competition, and we’re excited to partner with Bobby and Lisa Oergel and their entire team as we make this step into the LMP2 category,” said Bryan Herta, President of Bryan Herta Autosport. “We believe this program has all the right ingredients to contend at the front.”
“PR1/Mathiasen has always taken pride in competing at the front of LMP2, and this partnership is built to do exactly that,” added Oergel. “Bryan Herta Autosport brings depth and resources that complement our program. We have an aligned, high-performance team structure to contend for wins and a championship. We’re excited for 2026.”
