The two teams haven’t met since Dec. 4, 2008, when UK lost to WKU, 66-57, in Bowling Green. Kentucky’s last win against Western Kentucky was on Dec. 22, 2003, 76-63, in Historic Memorial Coliseum.
Kentucky is on a three-game winning streak since falling at North Carolina on Dec. 5. In those three wins, UK has scored at least 80 points, while the program has compiled a remarkable 387-26 (.937) record when scoring 80 points or more since 1974.
The Wildcats are 10-1 on the season, including 7-0 inside Historic Memorial Coliseum. In fact, the Cats are just five wins away from eclipsing 500 in the million renovated facility.
Also in those three games, Georgia Amoore, UK’s leading scorer at the moment, has put up at least 20 points in each. The last time a UK player has put up at least 20 points in three straight games was Dre’una Edwards in 2022 during UK’s 10-game winning streak en route to claiming the 2022 SEC Tournament title.
In its latest game, Kentucky overcame an eight-point deficit to defeat Belmont, 84-78, on Dec. 20. The Wildcats had their second-best shooting percentage of the season in that game, making 49.2 percent of their shots on 32-of-65 from the field. The Cats also drained a season-high 12 three-point field goals on 40.0 percent from the arc.
LEXINGTON, Ky. – The No. 16/15 University of Kentucky women’s basketball program will play host to Western Kentucky on Saturday, Dec. 28 at 4 p.m. ET in Historic Memorial Coliseum. It will mark the team’s last nonconference game of the season before beginning Southeastern Conference action next Thursday.
The Kentucky-Western Kentucky game will mark the team’s last nonconference game of the season, with a chance to conclude the nonconference season undefeated at home.

Kentucky narrowly leads the all-time meetings with Western Kentucky, 15-14, in a series that officially began in 1974-75. The Wildcats have lost the last two against the Hilltoppers, one on the road (2008) and one at home (Rupp Arena, 2007).
Darren Headrick will have the radio call for UK Sports Network, his eighth straight season as the voice of the Wildcats. His call will be carried on 630 AM WLAP (Lexington) and 790 AM WKRD (Louisville).

Amoore led her team with a season-high-tying 23 points, but even more notable, she drained seven 3-pointers against Belmont. It marked the first time a UK player has drained at least seven 3-pointers since Rhyne Howard knocked down eight against Auburn on Feb. 27, 2022, while also setting the school record.
