Big Game Motorsports and Gravel Show Consistency in Illinois and Indiana – Speedway Digest

Big Game Motorsports and David Gravel posted a pair of fifth-place results last weekend.

The two top-five outings make 16 top fives in 18 World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series races this season – the most of any competitor by four. It also helped push Gravel’s lead in the World of Outlaws championship standings to 72 points.

The weekend began on Friday at Jacksonville Speedway in Jacksonville, Ill., where Gravel qualified sixth quickest to open the Hy-Vee Perks 40. A runner-up result in a heat race was followed by a win in the dash to garner the pole position for the A Main. Gravel lost a handful of positions early before salvaging the fifth-place finish.

Gravel timed in ninth quickest on Saturday at Tri-State Speedway. He placed third in a heat race to line up on the inside of the fifth row in the Haubs Town Showdown main event. Gravel methodically moved forward before climbing into the top five in the second half of the feature.

The team ventures to Eldora Speedway near Rossburg, Ohio, this Friday and Saturday for #LetsRaceTwo. Gravel is tied for eighth in career World of Outlaws wins at the track with six victories, including two last season.

The team is riding a streak of three straight podiums and nine consecutive top 10s during World of Outlaws races at Eldora Speedway.
