TEMPLE, Texas — When Isaac “Ike” Shaw started training clients in a parking lot more than a decade ago, he had a vision—one rooted in resilience, growth, and community. Today, as the owner and CEO of T3 Fitness, one of the few Black-owned gyms in Central Texas, Shaw has transformed that vision into a 50,000-square-foot fitness facility dedicated to physical and mental well-being.
Starting with small group training sessions, Shaw’s classes quickly grew—from four people to 50, eventually leading him to open his first facility in 2010. Over the years, T3 Fitness has expanded into a full-service gym known for its innovative workouts and strong community atmosphere.
As one of the only Black gym owners in the region, Shaw embraces his role as a leader.
T3, originally short for Titan Total Training, represents more than just a gym.

Shaw’s fitness journey began with a simple observation: people showed up to traditional gyms but didn’t see results.
Shaw knows firsthand the challenges of building a business.

“I want to be the fitness leader in this community. I want to help people regain their energy, their passion—for themselves and their families,” he said.
For those searching for a place to start or restart their fitness journey, Shaw extends an open invitation.
“Some people couldn’t afford personal training,” Shaw said. “So I asked myself, ‘How can I help?’”
“I grew up believing that Black men are kings—we’re supposed to lead. So I step forward, share knowledge, and uplift others,” Shaw said.
Beyond the weights and workouts, T3 Fitness is about fostering a sense of belonging.
“We’re about overall fitness—from boot camps to one-on-one training to conditioning. We help people transform,” Shaw said.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, he contacted other local gym owners to collaborate on virtual workouts and community support.
As part of Roots of Resilience, a Black History Month special, Shaw’s journey displays a testament to perseverance and leadership in a space where Black entrepreneurs remain underrepresented.
T3 Fitness stands out not only for its high-energy boot camps but also for its commitment to helping members achieve lasting results.
“We’re not the cheapest, and we’re not the most expensive, but we offer the greatest value. If you want a place where energy, passion, and results matter, T3 Fitness is the place to be.”
“Every workout is different. We’re not just here to push you through a routine; we’re here to make sure you see real changes,” Shaw explained.
As he looks ahead to 2025, Shaw is focused on motivating his community to take control of their health.
“I tell myself I’m the president of fitness in Central Texas,” he said. “I’ve been doing this the longest, and I don’t shy away from leadership.”
