Boise State beach volleyball earns historic NCAA tournament seed
Boise, ID (CBS2) — Boise State’s beach volleyball team has been selected as the No. 14 seed in the 2025 NCAA Beach Volleyball National Championship.
The Broncos will face No. 3 Stanford in the first round, the NCAA announced during its selection show on Sunday.
The Broncos, who hold a 23-11 record, will compete against the Cardinal on Friday, May 2, at 1 p.m. MT in Gulf Shores, Alabama. The match will be broadcast on ESPN2.
Boise State secured one of the eight automatic qualifications for the 16-team single-elimination tournament by winning the Southland Conference title. The Broncos clinched the championship by defeating three-time defending champion Texas A&M-Corpus Christi 3-0 in the final dual.
This marks a historic moment for Boise State, as they are one of only two programs, alongside Texas, making their debut in the National Championship. Additionally, the No. 14 seed is the highest ever received by a Southland Conference member.
The National Championship will span three days, from May 2-4, in Gulf Shores, Alabama. The first round is set for Friday, with quarterfinal and semifinal rounds on Saturday. The championship dual is scheduled for Sunday at 8:30 a.m. MT and will be aired on ESPN.
