INDIANAPOLIS — After tallying her yearly salary, bonus, and various significant endorsements as a record-setting rookie with the Indiana Fever, Caitlin Clark amassed $11.1 million in 2024, positioning her as the 10th highest-earning female athlete globally.

Sportico unveiled its yearly rankings on Wednesday, highlighting that the top 15 female athletes are projected to collectively earn around $221 million in 2024, a 27% increase from the previous year. This year, eleven athletes achieved earnings of at least $10 million, compared to just six in 2023.

For the second consecutive year, tennis superstar Coco Gauff topped the rankings with $30.4 million earned from both prize money and endorsements. Gauff is only the third woman in sports history to surpass $30 million in earnings in a single year, joining the ranks of fellow tennis stars Naomi Osaka and Serena Williams.

Clark, the only basketball player featured, received a base salary of $76,535 from the Fever in 2024, but compensated for the $10 million gap by securing over 10 endorsement contracts.

Nike is reported by Sportico to be Clark’s most valuable endorsement, stemming from an eight-year contract she inked in April worth over $3 million annually on average. Other brands collaborating with Clark include Gatorade, State Farm, Panini, Wilson, Hy Vee, Xfinity, Gainbridge, and Lilly. Tennis players occupied nine positions on the list of 15, with golf contributing three more. The remaining three spots were filled by skier Eileen Gu, gymnast Simone Biles, and Clark.
