Liberty sophomore Kamryn Cannings has been named Atlantic Sun (ASUN) Conference Women’s Swimmer of the Week, while sophomore Shannon Icard has been named ASUN Co-Women’s Diver of the Week.A native of Calgary, Alberta, Canada, Cannings won four individual events for the second meet in a row.Hailing from Quitman, Ga., Icard concluded the regular season with a pair of diving victories, helping Liberty defeat both Campbell and UNC Asheville in a tri meet.Cannings also clocked a 54.74 100 fly leg on Liberty’s winning 400 medley relay and swam 24.70 for the third leg while Liberty won the 200 medley relay. She anchored Liberty’s victorious 400 free relay and led off the 200 free relay, in which Liberty took second. Cannings won the 50 free (23.26), 100 free (50.73), 100 fly (55.31) and 200 fly (2:02.93), helping Liberty defeat both Campbell and UNC Asheville in a tri meet. Icard receives her second career ASUN weekly honor. She is one of four Lady Flame this season to be named ASUN Diver of the Week, joining Mary Herndon (Oct. 17), Maddie Freece (Oct. 24) and Chloe LaCount (Nov. 27).The Lady Flames will aim for their seventh straight conference title, competing in the 2025 ASUN Swimming & Diving Championships, held Feb. 19-22 at Allan Jones Aquatic Center in Knoxville, Tenn.
 Both her 50 freestyle and 100 freestyle were her fastest dual-meet times in those particular events, and her 50.73 was the fastest 100 freestyle from any ASUN swimmer in a dual meet this season. Cannings earns her fourth career ASUN Swimmer of the Week honor and second of the season. She joins Aly Bozzuto (Oct. 17, Nov. 13) as Lady Flames who have been named ASUN Swimmer of the Week this season.This is the 15th time in program history, and third this season, that Liberty has swept its conference swimmer and diver of the week honors in the same week. Two weeks ago, Cannings and Icard swept the ASUN weekly honors.Icard then scored 210.90 on platform, the best score by nearly 50 points in the field of six divers for the exhibition event.She opened the weekend by taking first place on three-meter springboard, scoring 262.90 points to pace a field of 13 divers. Her 262.90 was over 30 points clear of the second-place finisher. Friday marked the fourth straight time that Icard has been over 260 points on three-meter springboard, a streak which started at the TYR ’85 Invite.
