First, the Trinity Lions Club will be hosting its 2025 Classic Car Show on April 12 from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. at 103 Stadium St. in Trinity. This area is a grassy former football field and free parking for attendees will be on Stadium Street across from the Trinity Peninsula Chamber of Commerce Building.
Spring events and festival flyers on Facebook, newspapers, and billboards are springing up everywhere. Facebook and other social media are amazing tools to advertise events, but I still like printed material that I see in windows and on buildings. So, I will list events by date so you can take a picture and keep them in your phone or wallet for future reference.

A gourmet hamburger plate is being featured this month on March 25, from 4-6:30 p.m. Donations are welcome, and the public is invited to attend.

March 25, Dinner with Friends, First Methodist Church, 4:30 p.m.
• April showers bring May flowers, so watch this space for the details of two Easter egg hunts that I know will take place in April. Fun, games, candy eggs, pictures with the Easter Bunny, gold nuggets, coloring contests refreshments make way for this wonderful event
The Trinity VFW Easter Egg Hunt is April 19 outside the hall grounds at 400 E. Caroline St. at 10 a.m. The hunt is for children attending kindergarten through third grade. Candy, prizes, hot dogs, hamburgers, and drinks are on the agenda for the children’s enjoyment. For more information, please call Marilyn Barnes at (936) 594-9467.

Some of the local events I will elaborate on in detail and some I will not. For Instance, the Trinity Lions Club events, the Martin Center Senior Citizen Center, and the Trinity VFW Post 6899 who open weekly to offer services to elder clients and financially challenged people in our community.

March 28, Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church Lent Dinner
Last week was Spring Break, and Trinity County was fortunate to have wonderful weather and an awesome week of events. However, the Midwest was not so lucky and 40 people lost their lives due to more than 300 tornadoes occurring in their states. We are forecasted for another week of good weather, and we are thankful.

The VFW also sponsors community blood drives, patriotic poster contests, and Easter egg hunts for trinity children. These activities also raise money for senior scholarships and repairs for veteran residents and property upkeep.
March 25, Trinity Middle School Literacy Night, 5:30 p.m.
The Church also hosts a youth group every Thursday night for fellowship, fun, and games. All students are welcome.
March 21, Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church Lent Dinner, 4:30 p.m.
• April 4-5, Westwood Shores Subdivision is hosting one of their two annual Garage Sale events which is at FM 356 East. On Friday and Saturday, the sale starts at 8 a.m. and ends at 5 p.m. No early entries. Maps will be available when you sign in at the guard shack.
April 17, River Pointe Healthcare Easter Egg Hunt, 10 a.m.
Watch this space for the time and dates for the Easter egg hunts in Trinity. The River Pointe Rehabilitation Healthcare Center and the Trinity VFW Post 6899 are two organizations that always sponsor Easter holiday festivities.
Proceeds from this benefit will be used to provide eyeglasses for local children in need and other Lion Club charities. For more information, please call Holly Reece at (936) 293-6007.
Entry fee for classic car enthusiasts is and more than 50 trophies will be awarded to entrants. T-shirts, welcome packets, water, and a free raffle ticket will be given also to each car show entrant. Some of the awards are:

Decade Divisions
• March events:
The public is invited to attend and enjoy our third annual classic car event with their kids and grandkids. There will be food, snow cones, a bouncy house, Hot Wheel races, door prizes, and raffles. The cost of the event is a monetary donation or a can of food donation for each person attending.
• On April 6 from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. the Trinity Volunteer Fire Department is hosting their Annual Fish Fry at the Trinity Fire Station. Next week I will give you a history of this annual fundraiser and tell you about the King of the Trinity Fish Fry dinner.
Best in Show Award
Dinner with Friends is a monthly fellowship with food, music, and games held for the members and their families, and friends usually the third Tuesday of each month.
March 20-22, First Methodist Church Rummage Sale, 8-5 p.m.
•Trinity VFW Post 6899 is hosting several bake sales during the next few weekends and on bingo nights to raise money to repair the Fellowship Hall’s dance floor, which is worn out. Eddie and Maxie host the afternoon dances on the first Saturday of each month from noon to 4 p.m. and bring live music to the post for the members to enjoy.
• First Methodist Church of Trinity is hosting its annual rummage sale Thursday-Friday from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. and on Saturday from 8 a.m.-2 p.m.
The church is located at 131 N. Elm St., and the sale takes place inside the fellowship hall. The public is invited to attend. For more information, please call Laura at (936) 594-3826.
