In the University of Michigan’s Wolverine Invite, Jereme Ombogo returned to the indoor track seemingly where he left off in 2023. In a field of plenty Division I competitors, Ombogo finished second in the 60m prelims with a PR and qualifying time of 6.78. That time is currently the second-best mark in all of Division III and tied an all-time CCIW mark. He performed equally well in the 200m with a mark of 21.76, good for second place at the event and fourth-best in Division III this season.
Additionally, Wesley McCloud was 13th in the high jump with a bound of 1.86m, good for 71st in DIII.
At North Central’s Cardinal Opener, the Vikings saw a few personal records established and a near top-10 finish. James Boldware ran a 7.29 in the 60m prelims to finish 19th and Thomas Knight ran a PR time of 7.52. Josh Brito was 11th in the 400m with a time of 55.06 and Michael Hernandez PR’s at 1:01.45.
What’s Next?
Erika Ver Beek was 20th in the mile (6:46.76) while Mason Wilson PR’s the shotput with an 11.84m heave and Rian Hobbs also PR’d for the women in the same event at 9.00m.
For the women, Riana Hayes was sixth in the 200m (25.53).
North Park is back at North Central next Saturday, Jan. 18, for the Heenan Invite. Start times in Naperville are set for 11:00 AM CT.
The North Park Track & Field team competed at the Cardinal Opener and Wolverine Invite this past Friday and Saturday in a split-crew weekend.
