KENOSHA – Carthage College Athletics is thrilled to announce the appointment of Chelsea Davis as the new head coach of the Firebirds women’s soccer program. Davis brings an impressive coaching resume, featuring extensive experience and a proven track record of success at both the collegiate and club levels.Davis joins Carthage from Marquette University, where she served as assistant coach and recruiting coordinator. During her tenure, she played a vital role in developing dynamic attacking strategies, leading to a significant improvement in offensive output. Her strategic recruiting efforts also brought in top-tier talent from across the nation, elevating the program’s competitiveness in the Big East Conference. “This was a thorough and highly competitive search process, and we are confident that Chelsea is the right leader to take our women’s soccer program to new heights,” said Director of Athletics Ryan Kane. “Chelsea’s diverse soccer background, infectious passion for the game, and commitment to developing student-athletes both on and off the field make her a perfect fit for Carthage. I’m excited to get started and see what we can achieve together!” In addition to her collegiate coaching experience, Davis has held coaching positions at Palomar College, the University of San Francisco, and California State University, Fresno. Her diverse coaching background, combined with her professional playing experience with Bollstanäs SK in Sweden, provides her with a well-rounded understanding of the game at an elite level.Carthage College Athletics welcomes Chelsea Davis to the Firebirds family and looks forward to an exciting new era for the women’s soccer program.
Davis holds a Master’s degree in Multimedia Communications from the Academy of Art University and a Bachelor’s degree in Communication from California State University Fresno. She is also a highly credentialed coach, possessing a USSF National B License and an NSCAA National Diploma.Before her time at Marquette, Davis served as the head coach at Pacific University, where she spearheaded a remarkable turnaround for the women’s soccer program. Through her efforts to establish a positive team culture, recruit standout student-athletes, and implement effective game strategies, the team achieved significant on-field success. Under her leadership, the program also excelled academically, with numerous players earning scholar-athlete honors.
