The Hillsdale College women’s swimming and diving team is known for its success, and not just in the pool.Hillsdale will head into the G-MAC/MEC Championships next week at the C.T. Branin Natatorium in Canton, Ohio, beginning on Wednesday, Feb. 12, looking to reclaim the G-MAC/MEC crown from Findlay after taking runner-up last season. Hillsdale and Findlay have finished 1-2 at the G-MAC/MEC Championships in all seven seasons both schools have been in the G-MAC, with Hillsdale winning three titles in that span.
The Chargers have a long history of academic success that Hillsdale added to earlier this week by continuing a lengthy streak. In order to earn the Scholar All-America Team distinction, a team must carry a 3.0 or higher average GPA for the most recent semester, a bar the Chargers easily exceeded with a total team GPA of 3.48. The Chargers have earned this honor every single season of head coach Kurt Kirner‘s 18 year tenure, an accomplishment the program takes great pride in, and that continues to set the bar high for future Hillsdale women’s swimming and diving teams.Earlier this week, the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) announced that the Charger women’s swimming and diving team has been selected as a Scholar All-America Team for the 18th consecutive year. The Chargers are one of 69 Division II women’s swimming teams to earn this honor, and one of 781 men’s and women’s swimming and diving programs representing 459 institutions across all collegiate divisions.
