Will Lee also won two national senior titles after he, ranked fifth in the men’s singles, upset top-ranked Marcano in the gold-medal match. Lee was victorious in the first set 21-17, but lost the second 16-21. With the match level, Lee dug deep in the final set to pull off a 21-16 triumph.
De Boulet was ruthless in her quest for victory and battled to the women’s senior singles, women’s doubles (with Rachel Khillawan) and mixed doubles (with Travis Sinanan) crowns.
Chequeda De Boulet captured a hat-trick of Badminton Senior National titles when action peaked on March 22 at the National Racquet Centre in Tacarigua.
In the 35+ doubles, Rickard Ramrattan and Tobias Frenking were crowned national champions courtesy a 21-7, 21-16 win over Wilson Reyes and Allan Young. And in the 45+ doubles, Ryan Maharaj and partner Sunil Ramgoolam topped Teeluck Harricharan and Chamanlal Ramdath via walkover.
In other singles title matches, Ananthu Somanathan beat Deepak Ramdath 21-12, 21-6 in the 35+ singles, while Christopher Joachim got past Dharm Pal in the 45+ singles.
She and partner Khillawan handed Urquhart siblings Amara and Aliyah, a 21-8, 21-12 defeat in the doubles final, and later on, joined forces with Sinanan to battle past teammates Reece Marcano and Cheyenne Bhola 21-18, 21-17 in the mixed final.

Ironically, he and Marcano teamed up to become men’s doubles champions as they clawed back from a set down (18-21) against Sheraz Nabbie and Anil Seepaul, to rebound with commanding showings in the (21-12, 21-14) next two sets to claim the crown.
Seeded highest in the singles, De Boulet trumped second seed Amara Urquhart 21-14, 21-14 in the trophy match.
