Mayor David Wortman is surrounded by some of the area youth who attended a recent gathering of city youth over ice cream.

Mary Poppins once sang that a spoonful of medicine makes the medicine go down.

Apparently, ice cream works pretty well, too.

Mayor David Wortman and Jen Phillips, Warren Worx marketing director, recently invited city youth to join them at Chloe’s Creamery for a meet and greet to exchange ideas that are important to them. The nearly 90-minute discussion – along with free ice cream – included topics such as school and other important issues within Warren.

Children shared recommendations with Wortman about how to improve the community. One young girl mentioned having a community Christmas tree to decorate. Another suggestion was to have an ice-skating rink. All in all, the general consensus was that the youth of the area would like to see more family focused activities happen in Warren.
