Cricket NSW recognises the vital role volunteers play in our sport, many of whom have dedicated years to its growth and development. Through the creation of the Volunteer Experience Action Plan (2024-2027), Cricket NSW is committed to rewarding and recognising those who have given so much to cricket and their communities over an extended period of time.
After an overwhelming response from the community, we are excited to announce to recipients of the Community Distinguished Service Award for season 2024/25. These volunteers will be forever etched in the history of Cricket NSW as the inaugural recipients of this prestigious award. Their stories of dedication and passion will serve as an inspiration to future generations, ensuring that the spirit of volunteerism continues to thrive in the cricket community.
This season, as part of the action plan, Cricket NSW introduced the Community Distinguished Service Award, to honour volunteers who have made significant contributions to cricket for more than 25 years. Launched in October 2024, the award saw nominations pour in from across the state, from the Far North Coast to the Southern border.
“Volunteers are the lifeblood of community cricket and every one of this season’s cohort of Community Distinguished Service Award winners has played a big role in cricket’s success over the last few decades. These volunteers have given their time and energy day after day for a sport they love to ensure it is enriched from the grassroots to the highest levels.
