Nick Davidson has consistently improved his production throughout his three years at Nevada, but is in the transfer portal seeking a new opportunity — most likely at a high-major program. The 6-foot-10, 240-pound physical forward can pass, dribble and shoot, hitting 50.0% of his shots, including 37.1% from 3-point range this past season with the Wolf Pack. Davidson also averaged 6.5 rebounds and 1.2 blocks per game to make an impact on the defensive end of the floor.Below is a closer look at the 15 highest-rated college basketball transfer portal prospects that remain uncommitted as of Thursday, March 27, at 9:30 a.m. ET:

This should be a natural progression for two-time transfer Tucker DeVries. After following his father, Darian DeVries, from Drake to West Virginia for this past season, the overwhelming expectation is he will also make the move to Indiana, where his father was named the new head coach last week. Tucker played the first eight games of the 2024-25 season before a right shoulder injury sidelined him the rest of the way. He was previously the back-to-back Missouri Valley Conference Player of the Year. The 6-foot-7 guard averages 17.7 points, 5.6 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game in 112 career games played thus far.

The 30-day window closes Tuesday, April 22. Even as the NCAA Tournament progresses with the Sweet 16 and Elite Eight set for this week, the transfer portal frenzy continues to rage on. Drake transfer Bennett Stirtz, the No. 1-rated portal prospect this cycle, is already off the board as he follows coach Ben McCollum to Iowa. However, many other top transfers remain available with programs across the country battling to land impact players ahead of the 2025-26 season.

One of the top scorers for Xavier is on the move, but Dailyn Swain is not expected to follow coach Sean Miller to Texas, according to Isaac Trotter. However, there is a good chance the 6-foot-8, 220-pound guard remains in his home state of Ohio. Swain averaged 11.0 points, 5.5 rebounds and 2.6 assists this season, helping the Musketeers reach the first round of the NCAA Tournament with a win in the First Four in nearby Dayton.

2. Dedan Thomas, PG, UNLV

New Mexico transfer Donovan Dent is the best available prospect after entering the portal Tuesday. The Mountain West Player of the Year averaged 20.6 points and 6.4 assists per game this season as one of the top scorers in all of Division I. Dent immediately earned five-star status as a transfer after being a four-star recruit coming out of high school. The 6-foot-2 junior guard helped the Lobos to the NCAA Tournament. However, his departure preceded that of coach Richard Pitino, who filled the vacancy at Xavier.

13. Michael Rataj, PF, Oregon State

UNLV point guard Dedan Thomas projects to be a significant contributor at a high-major program next season. The transfer has two years of eligibility remaining after leading the Rebels with 15.6 points and 4.7 assists per game during the recent 2024-25 campaign. Thomas earned third-team All-Mountain West honors while shooting 41.3% from the field and 35.3% from 3-point range. Even in the midst of an NCAA Tournament run, Florida and several other Sweet 16 participants have emerged as potential destinations for Thomas, according to Isaac Trotter. The 6-foot-1, 185-pound sophomore rated as a four-star recruit coming out of high school.
Obi Agbim is a well-traveled veteran, but should be in line for his shot at proving himself at a high-major program. The Wyoming transfer played two seasons at Fort Lewis College, one at Northeastern Junior College and another at Metro State, competing at the NCAA Division II level for both four-year programs. The 6-foot-3, 180-pound guard finished fourth in the Mountain West with 17.6 points per game this season. Agbim is a crafty, high-level shot-maker who can score from anywhere on the floor. His quickness and agility make him a tough matchup. There is an early front-runner from the Big 12 that has emerged as a potential destination for the four-star transfer.
The transfer portal departures are going to hit hard for Oregon State with top scorer Michael Rataj among those already leaving. The 6-foot-9, 220-pound junior forward from Germany led the Beavers with 16.9 points, 7.2 rebounds, 1.6 steals and 0.6 blocks per game. Rataj doubled his scoring production from his sophomore to junior seasons in Corvallis.

So, who are the top-rated college basketball transfers that remain available after Day 3 of the 2025 window?
Former five-star recruit and McDonald’s All-American Jalil Bethea entered the transfer portal — a decision that was not surprising after Miami coach Jim Larranaga stepped down in December. The Hurricanes did hire Duke assistant Jai Lucas on March 6, but Bethea is on the move after averaging 7.1 points, 2.1 rebounds and 1.2 assists across 31 games during the 2024-25 season.

3. Josh Dix, SG, Iowa

Josh Dix leads the exodus of transfers coming out of Iowa following the head coaching change. The 6-foot-6, 210-pound versatile guard was one of the most efficient scorers in the Big Ten this season, connecting on 50.7% of his field goal attempts — sixth-best in the conference. Dix averaged 14.4 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 2.8 assists per game while shooting 42.2% from 3-point range. The junior rated as a three-star recruit coming out of high school and ranked as the No. 1 prospect in Iowa for the 2022 class. A return to the Hawkeyes is not off the table as new coach Ben McCollum gets settled in, according to HawkeyeInsider. However, four high-major programs are leading in the pursuit.

In the first three days of the 2025 college basketball transfer portal window the number of entries is already nearly half of that from the entire 2024 cycle. According to national basketball analyst Travis Branham, more than 1,100 players had entered the portal in the 72 hours since the window opened Monday morning. The sheer volume of talent on the move has reshaped the landscape with many big-time prospects already making decisions and more high-profile names expected to follow in the coming days.
The new era of Virginia basketball will begin without junior guard Isaac McKneely. The 6-foot-4 shooter led the Cavaliers in scoring this past season with 14.4 points per game and ranked first in the ACC in 3-point percentage (42.1), second in 3-pointers made per game (3.2) and eighth in minutes per game (34.4). He earned All-ACC honorable mention this season as well. Although a return to Virginia is not off the table, a couple other ACC members are fighting to land the skilled sniper.
The rebuild process is already in motion at Indiana with new coach Darian DeVries in place. But one of the Hoosiers’ key players from this past season is on the move with forward Malik Reneau transferring out. The 6-foot-9 junior averaged 13.3 points, 5.5 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game this past season, hitting 55.2% of his field goal attempts and 73.3% of his free throws. The former top-50 recruit coming out of high school has one year of eligibility remaining.

Kennard Davis was one of the most improved players in the entire country this past season, seeing a significant increase in production at Southern Illinois. The 6-foot-6, 215-pound guard averaged 16.3 points per game as a sophomore, a major jump from the 4.2 he averaged as a freshman during the 2023-24 season. Davis can also made an impact on the defensive end, making him a valuable asset for suitors.
