The Newnan Youth Athletic Association 6U All-Star Team capped off a memorable summer with a strong showing at the 2025 state tournament, building on a dramatic turnaround that began just weeks earlier.
After starting the summer season with a 1-6 record over the first two weekends, the young squad found its groove just in time. They swept through the subregional tournament, earning wins over FCBA, Hampton and Lamar County, before edging out Pike County 12-11 in a thrilling championship game.
In the state tournament, the team opened with a win over Covington before falling to Walton, sending them into the elimination bracket. There, they faced Covington once again in a hard-fought rematch. Despite some questionable officiating, the boys played with determination and heart, showcasing their growth and resilience throughout the season.
The team included Bryce Farmer, Thad Respress, Houston McCorvey, Jerran Hunter, Wyatt Hounshel, Tripp Marchman, Jones Sherman, Zion Glenn, Wyatt Minton, Levi Barefield, Cason Ansley and Ryder Chase.
They were led by coaches Brandon Farmer, Jeremy Farmer, Phillip Warren, Tyler Marchman and Dominique Person, whose leadership helped spark the team’s remarkable turnaround.
