IOWA CITY, Iowa — The Athletics Department at the University of Iowa is pleased to share that donations made to the Swarm Collective will now accrue priority points via the I-Club priority points system.

The athletic department will allocate one point for every $100 contributed to the Swarm Inc. non-tax-deductible account from July 1, 2024, through June 30, 2025. Donations to the Swarm do not apply toward I-Club membership tiers or per-seat obligations.

“As we gear up for the upcoming changes in collegiate athletics regarding the ‘House Settlement’ and revenue sharing, we aimed to acknowledge the donors who back our student-athletes’ NIL activities through the Swarm Collective. We are lucky to have a solid connection with the SWARM Collective and are grateful for the support they have extended, particularly as we navigate this transitional period towards revenue sharing.”

Beth Goetz, Henry B. and Patricia B. Tippie Director of Athletics Chair

This initiative aims to motivate and recognize contributions that bolster our student-athletes’ NIL opportunities, further weaving these efforts into our overall fundraising and support strategies.

“Following the enactment of the ‘House Settlement,’ NIL opportunities for our student-athletes will continue to be a focal point for our department and will be pursued through our athletics development team,” Goetz noted. “We will maintain our collaboration with the Swarm Collective and their generous contributors to outline what their course looks like after the settlement.”

The athletic department and Swarm Collective are still in the process of finalizing details, and further information will be released soon.
