Heim time? Nah, Corey Heim is in another zipcode! After starting on pole and sweeping both stages with gaps upwards of five seconds, Heim takes his fifth win of the year at Lime Rock.
Heim started on the pole ahead of Jordan Taylor. Heim gets a great start and immediately flies ahead of Taylor. Layne Riggs moves up to second.
Brent Crews closed in on Taylor for third by lap 5.
Crews went a little off-road on lap 7 and fell back from Taylor. Kaden Honeycutt, who ran in fifth, was still about three seconds behind.
On lap 11, Wesley Slimp went off track at turn 1 from 34th but was able to keep going.
Heim also went a little wide, dipping a tyre into the dirt, but lost no time.
On lap 15, Spencer Boyd spun while running 34th and got stuck momentarily before getting going with a flat front tyre.
Towards the end of the stage, Heim started reaching the backmarkers.

At the end of the stage, the race was red-flagged for modified, non-competitive stops.
Heim and Riggs lead the way on lap 40. The two went side by side at the start, but Heim eventually got ahead by the end of the lap.
Dale Quarterley spun off the exit of turn 1 on lap 42 but was able to keep going.
By lap 55, Heim had a gap of about four seconds to Riggs in second when Heim ran into backmarkers again. He passed Frankie Muniz, putting him two laps down, on lap 57 before opening the gap back up to five seconds by lap 60.
Not many change-ups happened in this stage as Heim takes the second stage win with a lead of seven seconds. This is also Heim’s fifth stage sweep of the year, and his fifth consecutive Stage 2 win.

Another red flag is called for all of the drivers to pit non-competitively.
Heim and Riggs line up again for the restart, but the start was aborted. A car was leaking oil on the track. Another red flag was thrown.
They led the way to green on lap 76, and they stayed side by side into the first turn.
Matt Crafton goes through the grass just as Heim pulled into the lead. Crafton has to pit after.
Connor Mosack, after restarting in fourth, moved up to third and started closing in on Riggs.
On lap 87, Dawson Sutton slowed on the track, and smoke came from the car with a flat tyre, but he made it to pit road.
The first incident caution came on lap 90 when Matt Mills went off at turn 1 and got stuck in the grass.
Some drivers took the opportunity to pit under caution, but the top 10 stayed the same.
Still under caution on lap 92, Wesley Slimp slowed on track and came to a stop between turns 4 and 5.
Heim and Riggs line up as they had for the restart on lap 95. Drivers fanned out behind them as Riggs got a big push from behind. The push made Riggs lock his tyres and forced him off track. Riggs dropped out of the top 10. A few drivers had followed behind him and went through the grass.
Heim to the lead with Ty Majeski and Giovanni Ruggiero right behind. Ben Rhodes and Cam Waters moved up to the top 5.
Corey Heim makes it five wins for the season after sweeping all three stages for the inaugural race at Lime Rock.

It’s no secret that sponsors are crucial to NASCAR and that drivers often collaborate with them off-track as part of the job. But Carson Hocevar only seems to be doing it out of “fun” recently.
Even though his latest move might take restaurant giant Chili’s sales off the roof ahead of the Sonoma weekend.
If you recall, Chili’s made its NASCAR debut with Spire Motorsports in the 2024 season, sponsoring Corey LaJoie. But with Lajoie sacked and a revamped Spire Motorsports entering the 2025 season, the hospitality giants continued their partnership with the team, backing youngster Justin Haley and Hocevar.
Along with them, they developed a new marketing campaign titled “Ride the ‘Dente,” featuring a full-length country song of the same name and a reimagined version of the brand’s signature cocktail, the Presidente Margarita.
“Ride the ‘Dente” was also featured on Hocevar’s No. 77 car at Texas Motor Speedway this season as he flaunted his Chili’s paint scheme in the race.
The point is that the brand seems to have found its footing within NASCAR, along with Spire Motorsports. Hocevar appears to love the brand. To be fair, who doesn’t? Ahead of the Sonoma weekend, he even wanted to treat some of his fans at Chili’s, as he recently announced in an X post.
While Hocevar claimed this was not a promotional event, it could have been a perfect marketing stunt. Maybe it still is. The No. 77 driver wrote, “Hi. Anyone going to
@Chilis this weekend? I’ll buy. retweet this post, reply a picture of your receipt total at Chili’s, and that you’re riding the ‘dente. (not an ad. they don’t know I am doing this, figured it’d be fun) I will pick a few winners on http://twitch.tv/carsonhocevar.”
The post’s comments section is already flooded with screenshots of bills from Chili’s.
Also, Hocevar is feeling so generous ahead of Sonoma because of how well he’s been on road courses this season, and he is probably hoping for the same at the upcoming 1.99-mile, 12-turn track.
If you recall, he finished 13th in COTA and also managed to earn a P3 start at the Chicago Street Race circuit so far in the season – his best qualifying effort on a road course until now. Unfortunately, he got a DNF in the race. However, his recent race craft on road courses would have him confident heading into Sonoma.
But still, Hocevar remains cautious about the challenges that the track poses. Ahead of the race, he said, “It is different than what it used to be, but I thought it was fun last year with how much grip there was. I do miss how worn out it was before.
“I think it has its own challenges,” Hocevar said. “You are going faster and have to be more aggressive to be on the limit with that speed, but have to avoid overdriving the corner.”
Hocevar has been eyeing his maiden Cup victory for a long time now. Who knows, Sonoma could be where he finally gets it.

Shane van Gisbergen scored his third consecutive pole on a road course, posting the fastest lap in Cup qualifying Saturday at Sonoma Raceway.
The Trackhouse Racing driver won the pole and race at Mexico City and repeated the feat last weekend in the Chicago Street Race.
Saturday, he toured the 1.99-mile road course north of San Francisco at 96.040 mph.
Chase Briscoe (95.719 mph) qualified second to join van Gisbergen on the front row.
Points leader William Byron (95.488) will start third, followed by Ross Chastain (95.409) and AJ Allmendinger (95.367).
The race in Northern California will be held in July for the first time.
Ty Gibbs, who finished second to van Gisbergen last weekend at Chicago, will start sixth after a lap of 95.357 mph.
The green flag is scheduled to wave at 3:50 p.m. ET Sunday.

The three key contenders in the headlining Le Mans Prototype 3 (P3) class delivered an entertaining opening 45-minute race to the IMSA VP Racing SportsCar Challenge weekend at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park.
At the end, championship leader Valentino Catalano in the No. 30 Gebhardt Intralogistics Motorsports Duqueine D08 returned to the top for his fourth win of the season in seven rounds.
The complexion of the race changed before it even started with Catalano’s Gebhardt teammate, Oscar Tunjo in his No. 31 Duqueine D08, moved to the rear of the P3 field from pole following a technical infraction discovered in post-qualifying technical inspection. That promoted Jonathan Woolridge to pole in the No. 54 MLT Motorsports Ligier JS P320, with Catalano second and Tunjo back in fifth.
Woolridge led early but Tunjo made his way back to third behind Catalano. Catalano made a bold pass on Woolridge for the lead on lap eight. He passed Woolridge around the outside of the right-handed Turn 8, which set him up to have the inside for the subsequent left-handed Turn 9.
Tunjo followed through for second four laps later on lap 12 and emerged just over three seconds behind Catalano and began his pursuit.
“Driving the wheels off the car” can be used colloquially to describe a driver gaining pace on their rival. In Tunjo’s case, the phrase was first metaphorical – he closed from 3s to within 0.3s on lap 18 – and then literal, when a lap later his left front tire and wheel departed the No. 31 car exiting Turn 10 onto the front straight.
That brought out a full-course caution which closed the field. Absent his teammate, Catalano brought home the win by 2.331s over Woolridge with Bronze Cup winner Brian Thienes third in his No. 77 Forte Racing Ligier JS P320.
“After the pass I was just managing my race,” Catalano said. “I wanted to know I had a gap, and I know the entire degradation is really high here, so I took it quite easy. Then I saw that Oscar was pushing and then I was thinking, ‘Oh, should I push now as well?’
“Then suddenly I saw he was in the wall and with the tire lost. It’s really unfortunate for him because there would have been a really fun battle, I think. It was a good race. It’s really tricky around here to manage everything. Degradation is high and I had some other issues in the car, which got worse at the end, so I just had to bring it home.”
Grand Touring Daytona X (GTDX) and Grand Sport X (GSX) classes were straightforward affairs, with both polesitters leading flag-to-flag en route to victory. However, drama in both classes occurred for the final podium places.
In GTDX, Jake Walker enjoyed a successful race with his fourth win in the last five races aboard the No. 6 Turner Motorsport BMW M4 GT3 and won by 12.440s.
“We had a good start, and I got a bit of a gap, which was key,” Walker said. “I just kept putting down this lap time and looking forward. The Turner Motorsport BMW was ripping right out of the gate. This is my first time here and it’s an awesome track, man. It’s fast and it takes a lot out of you.”
Behind them, the championship complexion changed after the restart inside the final 10 minutes. Title rivals AJ Muss (No. 66 Af Corse Ferrari 296 GT3) and Adam Adelson (No. 24 Wright Motorsports Porsche 911 GT3 R) collided exiting Turn 10, with Muss assessed a 10s post-race time penalty for incident responsibility to drop from second to third.
Adelson was promoted to second, which unofficially gives him the championship lead by 20 points over Muss. Samantha Tan (No. 38 ST Racing BMW M4 GT3) marked her return to her home country venue at CTMP with the Bronze Cup win in fourth.
GSX was similarly controlled by championship leader Kiko Porto in his No. 8 RAFA Racing Toyota GR Supra GT4 EVO2, who took his fifth win of the season by 8.597s. The team recovered from missing most of the first practice session on Friday due to a mechanical issue that Porto explained nearly set him back on his first visit to CTMP.
“We had a similar problem to what took us from victory lane at COTA,” Porto said. “We were a little bit worried that would stay happening throughout the weekend, but the team did an amazing job to fix the car.
“In the beginning of the race, I was a little bit more aware of controlling the pace. We were able to make an almost eight-second gap. The yellow came, but I still had tires to the finish.”
Steven Clemons finished second in his No. 76 BSI Racing Toyota GR Supra GT4 EVO2 while Chris Walsh leapt to third and the Bronze Cup win in his No. 22 TWOth Autosport Porsche 718 GT4 RS CS following a last-lap issue for Ian Porter in his No. 68 RAFA Racing Toyota GR Supra GT4 EVO2, who slowed on course and dropped to eighth in GSX.
Sunday’s second VP Racing Challenge race of the weekend is at 11:10 a.m. ET and local time, streaming on Peacock, IMSA.TV and IMSA’s Official YouTube channel.
