It is back-to-school for me this week as our students return to the college. I feel like summer flew by, but I am excited for the faculty and students to return to campus. It is too quiet without them there.

It is my second fall without any Ranchhands here in the nest. I have adjusted pretty well to the peace and quiet but I can’t say the same for Ranchdude. He is much more extroverted than me and enjoys the activities and forced interaction that having a school-age child requires.

Wright awarded #1 jersey for the Huskers
Like everyone expected, a Nebraska Football player changed his number yesterday from No. 15 to No. 1. But instead of Dylan Raiola, as was anticipated, it was Husker cornerback Ceyair Wright who will wear No. 1 this year

Women’s basketball: Shelley named NLB1 South MVP; Bourne adds honors
Shelley’s season-long performance has fueled Geelong United to tomorrow’s NBL1 South Championship Game against the Knox Raiders. In addition to Shelley earning first-team All-NBL1 South honors, former Husker teammate Isabelle Bourne added second-team All-NBL1 South accolades.

This was the first Nebraska Alumni match since 2013. This year’s alumni squad featured Jordan Larson, Kelly Hunter, Lindsay Krause, Ally Batenhorst, Leyla Blackwell, and others.

Library book returned after 82 years
A library book has been returned nearly 82 years after it was borrowed from the San Antonio Public Library. It came with a letter noting that “Grandma won’t be able to pay for it anymore.”
