LONG BEACH, Calif. – The CUI beach volleyball are on the road for another tournament hosted by Long Beach State. The Golden Eagles will face off against two opponents starting with Tarleton State and Boise State. This is the first meeting between both these teams in program history and CUI was able to pick up another two wins moving to 11-6 on the season.
CUI 5, TSU 0
Although this was the first match-up between the two teams the Golden Eagles took control of the match and secured a 5-0 win. No. 4 pair Prewitt and Rossi reached the first point for CUI holding their opponents to just touching double digits. The fifth and third slot dominated earning the next two points in just two sets.
The last two games for the match in slots one and two went the distance going three sets. Solberg and Ostojic lost early in the first set but made some changes into their game to take control of the match and hold Tarleton State to just three points in the third.

CUI 4, BOI 1
The fourth slot earned the first win for the Green and Gold with a breeze holding the Broncos to under 13 points in the two sets played. No. 1 and No. 4 pairs were the next up to finish securing a win over Boise State.
Duo Medina and Godbey won with scores 21-18 in each set. Nordin and Solberg were looking for another sweep on the day against the Broncos but their opponents had other plans and won by a close two point difference in the third set.

CUI will close out the Long Beach tournament Sunday Mar. 16 against San Francisco and host team Long Beach State with 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. start times.
