Derby County player Ben Osborn has guided a group of students at a Derby school through an engaging workshop titled A Morning in the Life of a Footballer. The children at Da Vinci Academy in Breadsall Hilltop participated in the event organized by EFD Sport & Education, where Ben is a co-founder.

Ben facilitated the sessions, aimed at giving students a distinct insight into the life of a professional sportsman. They addressed vital components of an athlete’s daily routine, such as nutrition, fitness, and skill enhancement.

Pupils investigated the significance of nourishing their bodies and minds to achieve maximum performance through a focused nutrition and lifestyle segment. Additionally, they engaged in a lively gym and fitness session adapted for their age group, highlighting strength, conditioning, and overall health.

The day concluded with an exhilarating football coaching masterclass, where students refined their abilities under Ben’s expert mentorship while discovering the value of teamwork and determination. Ben expressed: “It’s a true honor to visit Da Vinci and inspire students who come from backgrounds similar to mine about football and the overall impact of sport.

Da Vinci Academy is among our partner schools at EFD Sport and Education, where we conduct weekly mentoring sessions to foster positive transformations. Workshops like today’s enable us to elevate aspirations and communicate the significance of essential qualities necessary for success, not only in sports but in education and life as well.”

Dedicated Derby County supporter Phil Gregory, who serves as the assistant head teacher and PE educator at the school, joined the students throughout the experience. He remarked: “We were delighted to present our students with this remarkable opportunity not just to improve their physical abilities but also to learn invaluable life lessons from an athlete who embodies discipline, teamwork, and resilience.”
