Details released in Tuesday’s pedestrian crash

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) – Sioux Falls police have released details on Tuesday’s collision that killed a Pedestrian in Sioux Falls.

The incident occurred just after 5:30 pm at West 26th Street and South Lake Avenue on Tuesday.

According to police, 49-year-old Kelly Schwarz of Sioux Falls was heading east on 26th Street when he hit a 65-year-old pedestrian.

Once on the scene, first responders performed life-saving efforts, but the victim later died in the hospital.

Schwarz was arrested for third-degree DWI.

The investigation is still ongoing.
