GETTYSBURG, Pa. – The men’s swimming squad at Dickinson wrapped up the 2024 segment of their calendar on Saturday, finalizing their participation in the Gettysburg College Invite at Bullets Pool. The Red and White concluded the two-day event in third place, achieving several victories and numerous Top-10 placements, in addition to establishing a new school record.

The Devils commenced the morning session with enthusiasm as the team of Nolan Chenot, Daulton Kendall, Samson Qu and James Wright achieved the winning time of 1:32.06 in the 200-yard medley relay.

Dickinson positioned four competitors within the Top-10 of the 400-yard individual medley, with Alexander Kanard seizing the final podium position with a time of 4:21.74, while Paul Florio, Matthew Ferenz and Benjamin Brandt secured fourth (4:22.13), seventh (4:26.71) and eighth (4:26.82) respectively.

In a competitive field for the 100-yard butterfly, Qu emerged as the top finishing Devil, taking fifth with a time of 51.15. Andrew Kelley finished 11th (52.05), followed by Chenot in 16th (53.12), Lukas Nier in 19th (53.61) and Jace Pedicone finishing 21st with a time of 55.05.

Aidan Keillor clocked in at 1:46.12 to capture seventh in the 200-yard freestyle. Damon Buchanan and Jack Engel also participated, placing 14th (1:50.53) and 15th (1:50.63).

Dickinson secured their second victory of the day in the 100-yard breaststroke, with Justin Wong finishing at 57.69, while Joe Apat and Chenot finished 8th (1:00.75) and 12th (1:01.77) respectively.

A pair of Devils competed in the 100-yard backstroke, with Wright earning second place at 50.79, followed by Frederico Colloca-Bianchi in eighth (54.45).

The 800-yard freestyle relay featured the team of Kanard, Kelley, Kendall, and Wright who finished second with a time of 6:59.00, while Apat, Brandt, Florio, and Nier secured sixth (7:21.15).

Dickinson commenced the evening session with four swimmers participating in the 1650-yard freestyle. Brandt was the only Devil in the Top-10, finishing ninth with a time of 17:16.03. Kanard, Buchanan, and Ferenz recorded 11th (17:21.24), 13th (17:24.63), and 14th (17:27.68) respectively.

Wright concluded the podium finishes for the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 1:51.48, while Colloca-Bianchi just missed the Top-5, placing sixth with a 1:57.94.

Qu achieved a second-place finish in the 100-yard freestyle, stopping the clock at 46.48, while Kendall joined him in the Top-10, finishing sixth with a time of 47.10. Engel and Nier placed 15th (48.94) and 18th (49.09) respectively.

The Red and White took first and third in the 200-yard breaststroke, with Apat (2:08.89) and Justin Wong (2:11.31) leading the way. Keillor rounded out the Top-5 with a time of 2:12.80.

Chenot and Florio finished close to each other in the 200-yard butterfly, posting times of 2:02.32 (7th) and 2:03.18 (8th). Jace Pedicone hit the wall at 2:12.39 for 14th.

The meet concluded with the relay team of Kendall, Qu, Wright, and Wong taking second in the 400-yard freestyle relay with a time of 3:08.25, while Chenot, Engel, Kanard, and Nier finished seventh with a time of 3:17.94.

Team Scores
The host Gettysburg College claimed the meet victory with a score of 947.5, followed by Montclair State (782.5), RED DEVILS (751), Shippensburg (429), and Scranton (278).

Next on the Pool Deck
The Red and White will take an extended hiatus for the holiday season, returning to competitive action on Wednesday, January 15th, when they face both Hood College and York College of Pennsylvania. The meet is scheduled to start at 5:30pm at York College.
