ZEIST, NETHERLANDS — VANAD Group has taken over SciSports, signifying its inaugural entry into the sports technology domain, harmonizing with its specialization in IT and customer experience.
Although the details of the merger were not revealed, the goal is to boost SciSports’ growth across Europe and North America.
Leadership strategies and outlook
VANAD Group, a family-run business with over 1,500 employees globally, brings robust financial resources and technical knowledge to this alliance. The firm provides business solutions in software and communication technologies, frequently involving outsourcing solutions for customer experience and tech development.
This growth will be strengthened by VANAD Group’s founder Ad Nederlof’s significant experience in Silicon Valley, acquired during his leadership as President & CEO of Genesys, which was bought by Alcatel for $1.8 billion back in 2000.

On the other hand, SciSports, located in Europe with a presence in North America, focuses on data analytics and artificial intelligence catered to sports entities, delivering insights that aid decision-making, which may encompass outsourced analytical services.
The acquisition ensures consistency in leadership, with Vincent van Renesse van Duivenbode continuing as the CEO of SciSports.
Utilizing technology for advancement
The portfolio of VANAD Group features various tech-centric companies such as VANAD Engage, Tangelo Software, and QuandaGo. SciSports enhances this network with its specialized sports analytics platform, leveraging artificial intelligence and machine learning to offer actionable insights for football organizations.
“This acquisition marks an exhilarating progression into the sports realm, merging our IT prowess with a cutting-edge software platform,” stated Nederlof.
“This collaboration allows us to deepen our current partnerships, channel investments into groundbreaking product innovation, and extend our solutions to a wider market,” added van Renesse van Duivenbode.
