Wheatfield – The Kankakee Valley E-Sports Team gathered together on Friday, Dec. 6 for their annual marathon gaming session to raise money for charity. The Team hosted a charity stream for 24 hours playing games, and doing challenges on stream to raise money for Riley’s Children’s Hospital of Indianapolis, IN.
The team managed to raise $4,062 for Riley’s, well over the original goal of $3,000. The team would like to thank you to everyone who watched, cheered the kids on, and donated.
“We are truly blessed to have such a supportive community in our school district and town,” said Coach and Sponsor Nathan Stall.
On the Extra Life platform KV is ranked 260 overall of total money raised for 2024. For the state of Indiana, they are ranked eighth. This year also marked a milestone of KV raising over $10,000 for Riley’s since they started holding charity streams.
The team would like to give a special shout out to Nick Boersma, Andy Boersma, Diana Boersma, and the Boersma Funeral Home for the single largest donation they have ever received of $1500.
