Dec. 27—The Zionsville swimming teams kept busy over the holiday break, heading over to Carmel on Friday to compete in the Carmel Invite, which also served as the grand opening of the Greyhounds new natatorium.Also placing in the top-8 for the girls: The medley relay team of Annabelle Swiney, Allie Buroker, Ava Murray and Hailey Paulick placed fifth in 1:49.01; Ava Metzger was fifth in the 200-free in 1:54.63 and Kira Hunter was eighth in 1:57.06; Swiney was fifth in the IM in 2:04.03; Buroker was eighth in the 50-free in 24.92; Hunter was eighth in the 500-free in 5:12.75; the 200-free relay team of Metzger, Buroker, Katie Gordon and Hunter was fifth in 1:39.78; Buroker was eighth in the breaststroke in 1:07.61; and the 400-free relay team of Metzger, Paulick, Murray and Swiney was fifth in 3:34.58.The Eagles travel to Center Grove next Friday.Placing in the top-8 for the boys: the medley relay team of Colin Walrond, Toby Dollens, Lew Sams and Caleb Kuntz was seventh in 1:37.71; Kuntz was sixth in the 200-free in 1:44.90 and fourth in the 100-free in 46.89; the 200-free relay team of Toby Dollens, Eli Dollens, Lew Sams and Jack Mybeck placed seventh in 1:29.95; Sams was fifth in the breaststroke in 58.18; and the 400-free relay team of Kuntz, Eli Dollens, Walrond and Brady Wright placed eighth in 3:16.94.Swiney won the 100-free in a time of 51.40 for the girls.Will Willems is the Sports Editor of the Lebanon Reporter.
