“We wanted to create the kind of camp we would’ve loved as kids,” Wilk said in the press release. “It’s about more than just sports — it’s about connection, teamwork and fun.”
East Dallas Athletic Camp is launching summer sessions for sporty kids this summer at the brand new, state-of-the-art facilities at Zion Lutheran School.
Mabry added in the press release, “Our goal is to make every camper feel welcome and encouraged but also challenged — whether they’re picking up a ball for the first time or already playing competitively.”

Camp sessions will take place throughout June and July with the first one on June 2-6. More sessions are scheduled for June 16-20, July 14-18 and July 28 through Aug. 1. All camp days start at 9 a.m. and end at 3 p.m. Monday through Friday at 6121 E. Lovers Lane. Camp costs 0 per week.

East Dallas Athletic Camp bills itself as a “fun, safe and inclusive multi-sport camp designed to build confidence, character and connection through play,” according to a press release. The camp’s goal is to create a space for boys and girls ages 7-12 of all skill levels to participate in sports and games, including basketball drills, indoor soccer drills, baseball drills, freeplay, kickball, dodgeball, sharks and minnows, zombie tag, foursquare, spikeball and volleyball.
