Elwood Motorsports debuted its new Roderick Racing Development Coyote Zenith kart at the Motorsports Country Club of Cincinnati for the first two rounds of the Pro AM series over the weekend.
On Saturday, driver Alan Elwood started second but an early spin in the pre-final forced him to the tail, but he drove back from sixteenth to ninth.
He took the green flag in the final in ninth then sliced through the field to land himself a third-place finish while setting fastest lap of the race on Saturday.
Elwood started the pre-final on Sunday in second after a strong qualifying run.
The final was an intense battle between Elwood and Lyda with a dozen lead changes occurring, but Lyda edged Elwood at the line and Elwood finished in second place.
He did, however, set fastest lap in that race as well.
The Elwood’s will be back in action in two weeks at New Castle Motorsports Park in Indiana.
