Engines Idling: A Jordan Dub Zero ‘Motorsport’ Sample Emerges

cutting-room floor is crowded with oddballs, and the Dub Zero ‘Motorsports Laser’ sample is another one for the pile – more curiosity than classic.

The Dub Zero first hit shelves back in 2005 as a Franken-monster of Air Jordans past, stitching together the sole unit, the heel tab, panelling and laser-etched graphics. Some loved it, some hated it, but nobody could deny its sheer audacity.

This new sample doubles down on that DNA, fusing the clean black-and-white blocking of the Air Jordan 6 ‘Motorsport’ with the etched-up flamboyance that made the OG Dubs pop. The mudguard comes dressed in a smooth tumble, while the upper gets blasted with laser artwork like a tattoo sleeve on overdrive. Flip the tag and you’ll spot ‘SP25’ stamped inside – a dead giveaway this was pencilled in for a Spring ’25 rollout before it was quietly punted into the archives.
