The Philadelphia Eagles might compete against the Carolina Panthers without their first-string tight end. Dallas Goedert sustained a knee injury last week.
As per Jeff McLane from the Philadelphia Inquirer, Goedert’s injury is not expected to end his season, though he is a candidate for short-term injured reserve.
If Goedert is unable to play, it would create chances for Grant Calcaterra in an ideal matchup for tight ends. The Carolina Panthers permit the highest fantasy points to players in that position.
This season, Goedert has been absent for three games, and during two of those, Calcaterra caught at least three passes while being involved for over 91 percent of the offensive snaps.
While Goedert recuperates, Calcaterra is expected to start against the Panthers. He could be the Eagles’ third choice in the passing game, following wide receivers A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith, who is also working to return from a two-week hiatus due to a hamstring issue.
