Good morning, mountain friends!

It’s a mild start to the day, with temperatures hovering in the 40s and 50s across the region. The good news? It looks like most of the precipitation should stay away!  And, the cloudy skies should help keep the snow bases firm, though still soft with these temps.  Now that’s my kind of playful snow!

As I sip my morning coffee and check in on the latest mountain happenings, I came across an exciting announcement from Wisp Resort. Wisp is offering FREE lessons to all first-time skiers and snowboarders! Yup, you read that right—free lessons!

As a snowboard instructor, this immediately caught my attention. I can’t stress enough how much a lesson can enhance your mountain experience. And no, tips from friends, family, or your significant other don’t count. There’s an art to teaching snow sports; and just because someone is good at skiing or snowboarding doesn’t mean they’re a good teacher. In fact, I highly recommend avoiding learning from friends or family (even if they are professional instructors). The process of learning to ski or snowboard can be frustrating, and it’s much easier to take out those frustrations on someone you know.  That can lead to tension, yelling, or quitting and in extreme cases, divorce!  Okay, maybe that’s a little dramatic but I’m trying to help save relationships here!  So, let the professionals show you the ropes, and you’ll get the most out of your time on the slopes.

Here’s the scoop on Wisp Resort’s offer:

  • Free Lessons for First Timers: This program is open to first-time skiers and snowboarders ages 8 and up.
  • Three Lesson Program: Reserve the first lesson that starts on December 20, 2024 and run daily through January 12, 2025. Second and third lessons are available throughout the season by reservation.
  • $69 Season Pass: After completing all three lessons, graduates will earn a $69 season pass, valid for the remainder of the 2024-25 winter season.
  • Exclusive Equipment Offer: In addition to the season pass, graduates can purchase a Rossignol equipment package at an exclusive discounted rate.
  • Discounted Pass for 2025-26 Winter Season: Graduates from the Ace’s Free Learn to Ski/Ride Program are eligible for a 2025-26 season pass for only $199!
  • For more details or to book your lessons, go here.

Trust me, this is one of the best “Learn To” offers I’ve seen in our region. If you’re looking to try skiing or snowboarding and are anywhere near Maryland, Wisp is the place to go! I’ll keep an eye out for other offers at nearby resorts, but if you know of any amazing deals, feel free to reach out to me at [email protected].

And as always, Dream Snow!!!
