Tim Walton, the head coach of Florida softball, is set to be inducted into the National Fastpitch Coaches’ Association (NFCA) Hall of Fame this upcoming Friday night in Dallas, Texas.

Walton boasts a remarkable 980-238 (.805) record over 19 seasons with the Gators, and a head coaching record of 1,103-302 — he was at Wichita State for three years before joining Florida in 2006. Walton has turned UF’s softball program into a national contender as he prepares for his 20th season.

Under Walton’s leadership, the Gators have qualified for the NCAA Tournament every year, with the exception of the 2020 season when the tournament was canceled. Florida has appeared in the Women’s College World Series 12 times, made it to the finals five times, and won consecutive national titles in 2014 and 2015.

Walton has gained eight SEC regular season championships, six SEC Tournament championships, and honors as the SEC Coach of the Year five times. His players have received 53 NFCA All-America accolades and 79 All-SEC nominations.

Additionally, he serves as an assistant coach for the USA Women’s National Team.
