That’s when employees noticed their paychecks starting to bounce.SACO (WGME) – A convenience store in Saco closed over the holidays, leaving a number of employees still owed money for the work that they did.Schuhmacher was one of the original employees at Hillview Market.A GoFundMe page has been set up to help the workers who say they are owed money.She says business was good and doesn’t know exactly why it closed.He says he lost everything when the store closed, and he says he’s already paid two employees what he owed them.”A lot of us have discovered that our paychecks have bounced,” former Hillview Market employee Amy Schuhmacher said. “Some of us multiple paychecks.”Justin Main was the owner and operator of Hillview Market.He says he had intended to use the income from the final week to pay employees, but they were forced to close early.”I mean, it’s been devastating,” Schuhmacher said. “You can imagine, Thanksgiving, Christmas. You know, still battling. Some people have had rent checks bounce. They’re facing possible evictions at this point.”What she does know is that she and her co-workers are owed money for the work they did in those final weeks.Main says he plans to pay back the rest of the employees as soon as possible.
