Four Huskies Earn Indoor Track and Field Academic All-MAC Honors

CLEVELAND – Carly Leonard (Hawthorn Woods, Ill./Indiana University HS), Samira Rosenfeld (Schaumburg, Ill./Schaumburg), Roshell Rowe (Manchester, N.J./Manchester) and Olivia Southby (New South Wales, Australia/Therry Catholic) of the Northern Illinois University women’s track and field team have been named to the Academic All-MAC team for the indoor season, announced on Wednesday (May 14). 

This is the third consecutive indoor season in which Rowe has earned Academic All-MAC honors, and her fifth overall Academic All-MAC recognition. The Manchester, N.J. native is a biological sciences major with a 3.366 grade point average.

Southby, a sport management major with a 3.655 GPA, has garnered the academic honor for the second-straight indoor season, she was also an Academic All-MAC honoree during the 2024 outdoor season and the 2024 cross country season. 

For Leonard, a sport and exercise psychology major with a 3.89 GPA, the Academic All-MAC award is her first during an indoor season, she has also received the honor during two cross country seasons (2023 and ’24) along with the 2024 outdoor season. 

This is the first Academic All-MAC honor for Rosenfeld, a psychology major with a 3.37 GPA. 

NIU will be back in action again on Thursday, May 15 through Saturday, May 17, when the Huskies travel to Athens, Ohio, for the MAC Outdoor Championships.
