Free youth baseball training program launches in Jackson
JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – A new program in Jackson will assist local organizations with the training of youth in baseball.
Officials at the Hank Aaron Sports Academy said the program, “44 – For Kids,” is collaboration between Colombean Coffee Company and Legacy League Baseball. It will make facilities at Smith-Wills Stadium available at no cost for four weeks in September and four weeks in October each year to two selected organizations for training local and area youth.
“Our hopes are that by making the facilities available at no cost, we will be able to greatly reduce or eliminate the cost altogether for youth to receive top-level training for learning or improving their skills in the sport of baseball,” said Tim Bennett, with the Hank Aaron Sports Academy.
The program is for children ages 8 to 13.
