Gator volleyball’s Lily Hayes and U.S. U19 Team win silver at FIVB Girls World Championship

GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) – Florida incoming Freshman Lily Hayes in addition to the U.S. Girls U19 Team claimed a silver medal at the 2025 FIVB Girls U19 World Championships in Osijek, Croatia.

Finishing with 14 digs in the gold medal match facing Bulgaria, Hayes and the U.S. fell 3-1 by the scores of 25-21, 16-25, 17-25 and 27-29.

The U.S. has medaled in the last four World Championships at the age group. The 2023 World Championship was the last gold.

Hayes was one of three Gators to make a 2025 U.S. National Team roster. Jaela Auguste and Taylor Parks were named to the U.S. Women’s U21 National Team for the 2025 NORCECA U21 Pan American Cup in San Jose, Costa Rica.

The pair will train from July 13-19 at the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Training Center in Colorado, where 12 athletes will be selected to represent the United States in Costa Rica to conclude July.
