WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University baseball team has announced its 2025 schedule presented by MedStar Health. The Blue & Gray are coming off one of the most successful seasons in program history as the Hoyas tallied a program record 36 wins and appeared in the BIG EAST Championship game for the first time in program history. The Hoyas look to extend their consecutive 30-win season mark to four in 2025.
“I am really excited about our 2025 schedule, and we have a very challenging slate of games as we always do. Each year we want to put together a schedule that will provide challenges both home and away that will prepare us for BIG EAST play. I think this year we did that as we play 22 games against teams who either won a conference championship, made it to the NCAA Tournament or are in a power four conference.
We are looking forward to another challenging year in the BIG EAST as I believe it is one of the best conferences in the country and we are looking forward to that competition. Our home schedule is the toughest it has ever been, and we can’t wait to welcome all of our fans back to Capital One Park this spring, the home of Hoya Baseball” – Head Coach Edwin Thompson
Georgetown’s 2025 schedule will feature 31 games at Capital One Park in Tysons, Virginia, the home of Hoya baseball. The Hoyas will have 24 road contests and are set to face five teams that competed in an NCAA Regional last season (St. John’s, UConn, Florida St., UVA, Oregon). Of the five teams who made the NCAA Tournament, four of those schools made it to the Super Regionals and two of them ended up making it to the College World Series in Omaha (UVA, Florida St.).
The Blue & Gray will open the season in Clinton, South Carolina on February 14, as the Hoyas are set to face Presbyterian in a three-game series. The last time GU faced Presbyterian was in 2023 when GU opened the season in Cary, North Carolina at the USA Baseball Training Center. The Hoyas won the series 2-1 behind a walk-off in game one.
Georgetown will then return to the District to face George Mason in Fairfax before the home opening series of the season against Sacred Heart (Feb. 21-23) at Capital One Park.
Following the series with SHU, GU will hit the road for four-consecutive contests as the Hoyas face George Washington on February 25, in a midweek showdown. The Blue & Gray will then travel to Tallahassee, Florida to face the perennial powerhouse Florida State Seminoles (Feb. 28 – Mar. 2).
Following the series with FSU, Georgetown will return to the District for a nine-game homestand starting with Coppin State (Mar. 4). The Blue & Gray will then compete in the DMV Classic (Mar. 7-9) facing George Mason, Towson and Longwood. The Hoyas will then welcome BIG 10 foe Penn State to the Nation’s Capital for a two-game midweek series (Mar. 11-12). Following the midweek matchups with the Nittany Lions, GU will host Monmouth (Mar. 14-16).
Georgetown will the make the quick trip to College Park to square off with the Maryland Terrapins in a midweek showdown (Mar. 18). GU will then return home for a four-game stretch that sees the Hoyas host Radford for a weekend series (Mar. 21-23) and host Mount St. Mary’s in a midweek affair. The Hoyas will then square off with UMBC in a three-game series with the first game of the three being played in Baltimore (Mar. 28-30).
The Blue & Gray will open BIG EAST action against the Villanova Wildcats for the fourth-consecutive season. The three-game series is set to be played in Villanova, Pennsylvania (Apr. 4-6).
GU will then once again hit the road to face the UConn Huskies for a three-game series. The Huskies are coming off an NCAA Regional appearance after the Blue & Gray knocked the Huskies out of the BIG EAST Championship in the elimination game in 2024.
Georgetown will then host Oregon in a Monday morning battle at Capital One Park (Apr. 14) marking the first time in program history that the two sides have met. GU will then host Butler for a three-game series in Tysons (Apr. 17-19) before hitting the road for the next four contests.
GU’s road trip will start with a quick trip to Charlottesville to face Virginia (Apr. 22) who earned a spot in the College World Series a season ago. The Blue & Gray will then travel to Cincinnati, Ohio to face conference foe Xavier in a three-game series (Apr. 25-27).
Georgetown will then return home to face cross town rival Maryland in a midweek contest. GU will wrap up the midweek slate with a contest against Mount St. Mary’s the following day in Emmitsburg, Maryland.
The Hoyas will then have a rematch of the BIG EAST Championship game as GU welcomes St. John’s to the District for a three-game series (May 2-4). GU will then host Delaware in a midweek contest before hitting the road for the final regular season road series.
After a three-game set with Seton Hall (May 9-11), GU will return to Capital One Park for the final four games of the regular season. The Hoyas will host George Washington in a midweek matchup before hosting Creighton for a three-game series (May 15-17).
