Girls can join YMCA winter basketball leagues for free

Published

The YMCA of Greater Indianapolis wants to create more opportunities for girls to play basketball.

In partnership with Eli Lilly, the organizations launched “The Court Is Hers,” an initiative that waives registration fees for girls to join fall and winter basketball programs at the YMCA.

Families do not have to be members of the YMCA for their children to participate. This winter, girls ages 4-12 can join four types of winter basketball programs: developmental basketball clinics, co-ed recreational, girls recreational and competitive all-city co-ed.

It’s free to sign up, but you must purchase a jersey to participate. Families can get assistance with uniform costs based on their income level.
