Glenn Edward Farris, age 67, passed away peacefully Friday, November 21, 2025, at home.
He was born February 16, 1958, in Jefferson City, Missouri to George and Regina Farris.
Glenn was united in marriage to Debbie Murphy Farris on January 2, 1988.
He graduated from New Bloomfield High School in 1976.
Glenn was never an idle man, being born third in the family of 14, chores on the farm were a part of his daily life. He took great pride in his large family and the many fun times they had growing up. When in high school, he worked at Meadow Lake Acres Country Club. Following graduation, he was employed at United Super Grocery Store, which he dearly loved and made many friends. Through the years, he was employed at Dix Nursery, Gerbes Grocery Store, Berlin Wheeler, Durham School Bus Services and Central Dairy, where he retired after 25 years. He was also the proud co-owner of Shirts on the Side Screen Printing with his son, Patton. The legacy continues to operate as Summit Branding and Apparel. He, along with other family members, owned Summit Theatres and Tanning Oasis in Holts Summit.
Glenn was a faithful parishioner at St. Andrews Catholic Church in Holts Summit, where he was a member of the Knights of Columbus. He was a member of several organizations including: The National Wild Turkey Federation, where he served as the local representative and organized the annual banquets, Ducks Unlimited, Elks Unlimited, Holts Summit Lions Club, and the National Rifle Association. He enjoyed coaching several youth sports teams.
Glenn was an avid turkey hunter and loved fishing in his own pond, especially with his brother Phil on their “date nights”. He was also a devoted KC Chiefs fan. Maintaining a beautifully manicured lawn and property was important to him.
Family was everything to Glenn. He acquired a son when he married Debbie. Glenn always referred to Patton as his son, never as a stepson. When Patton married Katie, they blessed him with two grandchildren, Lydia and William. From the moment he first held them, he dedicated himself to being the best Pawpaw ever. Always there for them, attending their events and instilling in them the value of hard work, dedication and honesty. He also treasured his many nieces and nephews and enjoyed attending their school activities, lives milestones and accomplishments.
Glenn’s friendly personality, ready smile, teasing nature and a twinkle in his blue eyes, allowed him to make friends easily…never knowing a stranger or a forgetting name.
