ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) – The latest team in the WNBA turned to the Dream to start shaping their roster.

The Golden State Valkyries chose Dream center Iliana Rupert as the top selection in this year’s expansion draft. Rupert was a member of the Dream in 2023 but did not participate in the WNBA during 2024. She is now playing for Çukurova Basketbol in Turkey.

She posted averages of 1.8 points, 2.0 rebounds, and 0.5 assists while playing 7.9 minutes per game with the Dream.

Rupert excelled for Team France in the 2020 and 2024 Summer Olympics, securing a bronze medal in 2020 and a silver in 2024.
