Gov. Ivey proclaims Aug. 29 College Colors Day

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WSFA) – Get ready to don your school colors!

Gov. Kay Ivey on Thursday, alongside college students and mascots representing Alabama’s 14 public universities and institutions, proclaimed Friday, Aug. 29, as this year’s College Colors Day.

College Colors Day is an annual event promoting Alabama’s public universities and the opportunities they bring in educating and enriching the lives of citizens.

Students, faculty, staff, alumni and fans are encouraged to wear the apparel of their university on Aug. 29.

Ivey delivered remarks on the front steps of the Alabama State Capitol Thursday morning and presented the proclamation.
