CLEMSON, SC – Throwers Morgan Graham and Chioma Njoku each had top 10 finishes in the weight throw on Friday to highlight Maryland’s performances at the Tiger Paw Invitational hosted by Clemson at the Clemson Indoor Complex. Day two of the event will resume on Saturday morning at 9 AM and will be streamed on the ACC Digital Network (ACCNX/ESPN).
Njoku had the best individual finish of the day for the Terps at seventh in the Invitational Weight Throw with a mark of 20.14 meters. Graham competed in the seeded Weight Throw event placing ninth with a season-best throw of 17.89 meters.
Also competing on Friday were Armanie Coleman and Victoria Teasley in the 60-meter dash. Coleman clocked a time of 7.51 seconds (38th), while Teasley ran 8.03 seconds (69th).
In the long jump, Tolu Akinduro and Nyla Cherry placed 27th and 28th with marks of 5.59 meters and 5.58 meters, respectively.
On Saturday, the Terps will be split between the Tiger Paw Invitational, while the mid-distance and distance squad will compete at the BU Valentine Invitational (streamed on FloSports). Competition at both events is set to begin at 9 AM.
