BOCA RATON, FL
– The Tulane women’s basketball team (7-4) travels to Boca Raton to face host Florida Atlantic (8-5) Sunday at 2 p.m. ET/1 CT on Abessino Court at Eleanor R. Baldwin Arena in the American Athletic Conference opener for both schools.
The Green Wave comes into the game riding a four-game winning streak, which included a victorious weekend at the Tulane Holiday Tournament following triumphs over Alabama A&M (53-46) and ULM (68-63). The Olive and Blue’s Kendall Sneed and Amira Mabry were each recognized by the league office for their efforts.
Sneed was named the conference’s Freshman of the Week after averaging 13.5 points and four rebounds. She scored 20 points on 7-for-11 shooting with five assists in the win over ULM. This is her third such honor after winning on November 25 and December 2.
Mabry was named the tournament’s MVP after averaging 15 points and eight rebounds for the weekend, which included a 21-point, 12-rebound effort against the Warhawks.
The Owls have won three of their last four and are 5-1 at home this season. They are led by Mya Perry’s 14.6 points per game. She also connects on 39.3 percent of her 3-point attempts. Erin Rogers (12.0) and Jada Moore (11.2) also average double digits for FAU and Alana Rouse (5.7) is the team’s top rebounder.
